Per my comment on the Exchange 2016 CU15 blog page, can you let us know if the eDiscovery PST Export Tool has been/was supposed to be fixed? I ran the Export Tool from the EAC for the first time after updating to CU16 and it still appears to be broken. I followed previous advice from Microsoft to manually copy a DLL file to fix it. Perhaps I need to wipe my Windows profile before this will work without the following intervention?
- Navigate to the affected server machine.
- Open File Explorer -> Type %ExchangeInstallPath%Bin
- Search and copy the Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.dll Application extension.
- Now open the affected user's client machine.
- Open File Explorer -> Type %LocalAppData% in search bar and search for Microsoft.Exchange.Ediscovery.Export.dll.
- Right click on the most recent Microsoft.Exchange.Ediscovery.Export.dll and open the file location to get the folder path.
- Then paste the Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.dll to the directory.
- Now try doing the eDiscovery PST Export.
