Googol - No, there is no work going on to re-release the latest set of CUs or SUs.

Note that several things that have changed (and are listed under known issues) are essentially changes in design and are permanent changes, taken to address security issues. To be sure, there are things that we are looking to address in future updates, but - without knowing which issues specifically you speak of - the only way might be to go forward. It is far from ideal that a particular update might modify existing functionality or require unique steps to be addressed, but such things are sometimes unavoidable. I personally believe that what is obviously a bit painful process to navigate some of new requirements and steps to take to apply updates (all of which we tried to document) - is still better than possibly dealing with compromised environment at the later date. Our advice is to not delay application of security updates.
