Possible issue with Public Folders and the new security update.
If you have a public folder and you edit an item. Other users will see the header update but not the item itself.
Scenario
1. Create a public folder
2. Create a post in the folder.
3. Have another user edit the post (change the subject). May take two edits.
4. Have the other user look at the post. The Outlook explorer will show the change but the preview pane or if you open the item, it does not show the change. If you try and edit you get an error that the message was edited by another user. The change eventually shows up, but you have to exit Outlook or wait about 10-15 minutes while switching folder. If you stay on that item, it never updates.
This error happened last year, and we placed a call to Microsoft, and it took 3 months to fix. We have placed another call this year and they are saying this is normal behavior. We are still working with them as this is not normal behavior.
We were hoping the Exchange team could shed some light on this. It appears that the Microsoft 365 team does not have access to the Exchange team. This was an issue last year as well and the Exchange advisory "Cannot Delete Public Folders" fixed the issue. The issue came back mid December of this year about the same time as the security fixes.
