The installation failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Security Update For Exchange Server 2016 CU23 (KB5023038).
I cannot finish the installation or un-install it. Half of the exchange services start and the powershell CMDLets do not start.
The Transport service starts and then stops and generates this event log:

Seeing as the exchange server is in a bad way, can somebody with experience confirm, the proceedure for restoring the entire VM. Note the server's HubTransport servercomponentstate is currently Draining for the server.
