Hi,
We just deployed the CU security update to our first exchange server delivered by WSUS and it is currently in a broken state.
I came accross this article - https://borncity.com/win/2023/02/16/microsofts-february-2023-patchday-incorrect-updates-in-wsus-exchange-and-windows/?unapproved=15918&moderation-hash=817ec923eb3f38909d8f8483bfef03b2#comment-15918 which suggests that the wrong package was uploaded for WSUS repositories.
The installation failed with:
Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Security Update For Exchange Server 2016 CU23 (KB5023038)
More than half the services do not start and we cannot either rollback or re-install the update. We are considering a restore of the VM. Please can anyone advise what the latest advice is from MS or have been able to fix Exchange in a broken state or if ots OK to restore the entire VM before the update was installed. It is a transport only exchange server.
We are running version 15.01.2507.017.
