Yesterday morning (german timezone) we have patched one of our Exchange 2016 servers, unfortunately with the first release of KB5023038 via Windows update.
In the evening there was the 2nd update of KB5023038 available via Windows Update and after installation the update history shows both updates (KB5023038) successfully installed. Under Control Panel / Programs and Features version 15.1.2507.21 is displayed.
Running "Get-ExchangeServer | Format-List AdminDisplayVersion" we see: AdminDisplayVersion : Version 15.1 (Build 2507.18)
On another Exchange Server 2016 we did not have the 1st release of KB5023038 via Windows update installed, so we directly installed the new/updated version of KB5023038 via Windows update. Under Control Panel / Programs and Features version 15.1.2507.21 is displayed, BUT(!!) running "Get-ExchangeServer | Format-List AdminDisplayVersion" we see: AdminDisplayVersion : Version 15.1 (Build 2507.17) - STRANGE!!
WHY is there a difference in AdminDisplayVersion? ...and why did AdminDisplayVersion not show 2507.21 at all? Are both servers OK? Please enlighten us!
