We are having an issue with searching from shared mailboxes hosted on on-prem Exchange 2016 CU23 servers, even with hotfix 5037224 installed. This problem occurs in outlook version 17425.20236 which is the latest Monthly Enterprise channel release. When user enters a search term and hits search or enter, nothing happens. not "no results", just no response from the GUI, no search is initiated. If we turn off cached mode (not ideal), it works.
This happened before and seemed to be resolved by later installation of an Exchange Server security update.
is there some interdependence that isn't being flagged, between particular versions of outlook and particular exchange security updates.
