If SUv1 was installed via a workaround and "Network Service" account was created, then SUv2 CAN actually be installed on top of the SUv1 but the dependency on "Network Service" account carries forward. In other words - it will all be OK as long as this account is still in place. If this account gets deleted at some point in the future, the future SU will fail.
So - if SUv1 was installed with a workaround and SUv2 was then installed on top of it and "Network Service" account is still there, my suggestion would be to schedule maintenance and:
- Uninstall SUv2 (because SUv2 replaced SUv1 on your server) and reboot
- Remove the "dummy" Network Service account
- Re-install SUv2 as if v1 never existed
- Carry on in the future without having to worry about this
