Thanks, this was a good re-read now that I'm more familiar with modern public folders, but I was actually wondering how auto-split manages the problem Brian mentions above about the locking issue. What mechanics does auto-split employ? Do customers complain that target mailboxes are locked for several hours while the reshuffling takes place, provided auto-split isn't always going to a new empty mailbox?
Also, if you could share the logic of the auto-split scripts that'd be great too. It seems reasonable to work up some on my own based on get-publicfolderstatistics, but i'd love to see what ExO uses.
