Hi Nino,
Thanks for all the helpful information you provided in the below comment section,
I have a question which I could not find answer around the web,
Scenario -
Active Directory onPrem Hybrid (Function level 2008) - only for identity
All Devices are EntraID Only joined
1x Exchange Server 2016 - Powered off and powered on for patching (no Services, no smtp services, no mail - all mailboxes are in Exchange Online) - my understanding exchange server needs to exist for management purposes only and can't be fully removed as long as we are AD Hybrid?
question -
I would need to uplift our domain and forest function level to 2012 R2 before the upgrade/install -
What would be best recommendation,
Install Exchange Server 2019 first side by side to Exchange Server 2016 then patch to SE, then Decommission Exchange Server 2016 Shortly after
OR
Install Exchange Server SE side by side to 2016 and decommission 2016 shortly after? (Put 2016 in maintenance mode to do scream test)
