why this takes so long? Why no successor earlier? Why Exchange 2019 has only extended support until 2025 whereas SQL 2019 until 2030?
We have a lot of trouble planning migration paths and datacenters and to be sure: we do not plan to migrate our customers to exchange online if they don't want. And many just don't want, for a bunch of reasons.
Microsoft keeps us on a short leash here in order to move more seats online more or less "voluntarily". I would say, less indeed.
Really, a lot of people don't get it anymore, we support Microsoft since the 90's and we want a clear path for Exchange on premises right now.
This product policy (it's marketing, isn't it?) is clearly a case for the competition authority, this has nothing to do with competition or a choice of decision.
