The Exchange Time Zone Update Tool is scheduled for release tomorrow. We (Exchange) spent the weekend working with MSIT for a pilot of this tool. What we discovereed is that it was really hard to use. The administrator experience was too many manual steps and too easy to get wrong. Since Friday, we have completely re-written the tool. It is Wizard driven rather than command line and the extract mode completely builds the input file for the update mode rahter than needing admin intervention to build the right size and shape files. It can now also span servers rather than being server specific. It has more verbose logging so that you can see sucess and failure. We are also going to be releasing a VM for Virtual PC that has all the pieces put together in it so that it is really easy to deploy many instances of the tool for a speedier experience. The stand-alone tool will be on the download center, we are still looking for a free and easily accessible site for the VM. I will let you know when we find a home for that. The VM is also free and timebombed to expire after the DST transition.
