Exchange 2010 SP1 EMC Get-Userlogon error message
After running into this and posting to the ranger alias, I had a private conversation which "possibly indicated" duplicate machine SIDs.
I had deployed my Hyper-V lab with SCVMM library template all from the same syspreped image.
It would happen that the person I spoke to said, "Did you make sure to select the "Generalize" checkbox?
Typically up til now this same image worked just fine with 2010 RTM so I never bothered to click that.
I went through and took that library image and deployed, started up and reran sysprep, chose Out Of Box Experience from the dropdown list and this time Chose the "Generalize" checkbox. and chose to shutdown.
I then moved it back to the library and created all the servers in this lab over again. AD, Hub/CAS, Ex Mailbox, and LoadGen servers, recreating the AD and installing Exchange on the hub/cas server w/mailbox so I can get the arbitration mailboxes on the hub/cas.
This time when it completed and the EMC came up, it took a while but then the little hour glass on the tree went away, the details pain actually progressed and came up fine this time.
I then installed 2010 SP1 onto the Mailbox only server and it also worked just fine.
Long and short, if you deployed via sysprep and didn't use the generalize option, or copied vhd or vmdk you may have had this problem.
