Hi,
I have seen using Commvault on Exchange 2010 SP1 and SP2, that the backup of the passive copy is possible even if the Backupinprogress flag is at true. then a weird thing happen in the Event. On the passive server all is good, it take is snapshot froze the DB, send the info to the Active Copy. The active copy refuse it since the flag is at true, but doesn't send back the info to the passive copy. Then the backup complete on the passive copy, the server send the log truncation signal to the active server, the call fail and the log stay there.
On problem of that is the fact that sometime the Backupinprogress flag stay at true even if they are no backup in progress, so we have to restart the Store service. the other part of the problem is that even if the Microsoft documentation on VSS say that if the flag is at true either passive or active copy backup are not possible.
Did you see anything like that or have any idea on what happen ?
We have a ticket with MS and Commvault but it not the fault of anybody ...
