Hi JonasBack
That's great to hear! Thanks for sharing your experience so far. I’ve done my best to answer your questions below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Only mail flow related alert policies have moved to the new EAC. All other alerts in the Security Center (security.microsoft.com) will not be moving to the new EAC. For more information on which exact alerts are now available in the new EAC, please visit here: Alert policies in Exchange Online | Microsoft Docs.
As for the banner information, thanks for catching this and apologies if that caused confusion. We are keeping the mail flow alerts in both the Security Center and the new EAC for now. We will update the banner to reflect this.
- We are in the process of migrating all mail flow features in the Security and Compliance Center (protection.microsoft.com) to the new EAC portal. This effort was made so that email admins can use one portal, the new EAC, for all their email administration work in the new EAC rather than jumping around to multiple portals throughout the day. Additionally, as you probably know, the Security and Compliance Center (protection.microsoft.com) is retiring and moving to its respective new portals: Security Center (security.microsoft.com) and Compliance Center (compliance.microsoft.com).
Mail flow features that are migrating/have migrated include: mail flow alerts, mail flow reports, and message trace. I’ve listed below a summary of where each mail flow feature lives and the current roadmap of where they will be migrating to.
- Mail flow alerts are available in the new EAC and available in the Security Center (security.microsoft.com) like mentioned above. There are no current plans to migrate this off of the Security Center, but we’ll be looking into that possibility in the near future
- Mail flow reports are not available in the Security Center (security.microsoft.com) except for one mail flow report: the exchange transport rule report. There is a link in the Security Center that takes you to the new EAC mail flow reports page where the mail flow reports currently live. The one current exception, the exchange transport rule report, is also available in the new EAC and will be retired in the Security Center in the coming few weeks.
Mail flow reports are also currently available in the Security and Compliance Center (protection.microsoft.com) in WW until March-end which is when the portal is planned to be retired in WW.
Please visit here to see which reports are included in our mail flow reports Mail flow reports in the new EAC in Exchange Online | Microsoft Docs.
- Message trace was retired in the Security and Compliance Center (protection.microsoft.com) in WW end of last year.
While message trace was available in the Security and Compliance Center, it was never available in the Security Center (security.microsoft.com) directly. There is a button for Exchange Message Trace in the Security Center which takes you to the new EAC message trace.
