This is a problem when using message trace to trace an email from or to a specific proxy address on a mailbox. You can only trace a message from or to a proxy address with the legacy message trace, and this functionality hasn't been moved over to the new experience. This really hinders investigations!
For example, in the old legacy message trace, I can enter someone's proxy address (not their primarySMTPaddress) to search for message to or from that person by clicking "check names". In the new experience, you cannot do this. You have no choice, but to choose the suggested mailbox address which is the primarySMTPaddress when doing a trace.
We need the ability to run a trace on ANY address, not just the primarySMTPaddress of the user's mailbox.
