Basic Authentication Deprecation in Exchange Online – September 2022 Update

Regarding the new workflow of the diagnostic tool called with “Diag: Enable Basic Auth in EXO”. Prior to Sept. 1 this tool could be used to enable basic auth for selected protocols. During the month of September it is used to request to be opted out of having selected protocols automatically disabled on Oct 1st BUT they don't seem to actually enable them at the same time like they used to. Come Oct. 1st the tool's workflow go back to making the exception it did prior to Sept. 1st but currently - during just this month - there are not clear means for admins to enable Basic Auth. Is there a simple way to enable basic auth for necessary protocols during September? 

Going to Settings>Org Settings>Modern Authentication and making exceptions for all available protocols seems to still leave the BasicAuthBlockedApps value stay set at 29 where we previously needed to get it to 0.
