Greg Taylor - EXCHANGE The_Exchange_Team Can someone please answer and provide details for SachinThomas1 query? It is important for us to make changes. The information available online is not very clear for us on SMTP part.
1. Will you support SMTP with Basic Auth beyond 01Oct2022? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/deprecation-of-basic-authentication-exchange-online states "SMTP AUTH will still be available when Basic authentication is permanently disabled on October 1, 2022. The reason SMTP will still be available is that many multi-function devices such as printers and scanners can't be updated to use modern authentication. If not supported, is SMTP supported when SSL / TLS is used?
2. As per, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/client-developer/legacy-protocols/how-to-authenticate-an-imap-pop-smtp-application-by-using-oauth#smtp-protocol-exchange "current test with SMTP OAuth 2.0 client credential flow with non-interactive sign in is not supported". What is the way forward? Why is there no proper update? If the blog post is getting updated on such things, will the date 01Oct2022 be extended for SMTP?
