Greg Taylor - EXCHANGE I'd appreciate clarification on the scope of what will be permanently disabled on 1st October 2022 please. JanisZ595
has also asked this same question.
When we following the MS guidance on filtering the Azure AD Sign-In Reports (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/basic-auth-and-exchange-online-february-2020-update/ba-p/1191282 ) for basic auth which includes 13 line items Other Clients we get the following records.
Client App: Other Clients
Application: Office 635 SharePoint Online
Will this and any other non Exchange/Email related basic auth protocols also be disabled? The article is very Exchange Online focused, but also states "
Today, we are announcing that, effective October 1, 2022, we will begin to permanently disable Basic Auth in all tenants, regardless of usage, with the exception of SMTP Auth." which I assume includes the SharePoint Online scenario.
