Hi Greg Taylor - EXCHANGE & Betty Stolwyk ,
Thanks for your replies!
Sorry for the confusion on my end... yes, I am aware of MFA!=Basic.
I am trying to understand how our Jira Service Desk mail channels can be affected... and if we should be proactive here, and prepare for coming changes.
Today we have majority of service accounts that have MFA enabled, and since we are using them (their mailboxes) to connect with Jira Service Desk projects for the sake of raising ticket via mail functionality we have generated app pw to workaround MFA. Email protocol we are using is Secure POP. Correct me if I am wrong, we do not need to update the settings since we are use Secure POP - both IMAP/POP will continue to work?
But lets assume that we anyhow want to go away from POP/IMAP, and that Microsoft Exchange Online does not support OAuth 2.0 for POP3 at the moment. Is the option then to connect to the mail server using SECURA IMAP and then integrate with OAuth 2.0? Since Jira 8.10 and JSD 4.10 do support OAuth 2.0 for incoming mail...
Some accounts could still be using Basic, I need to double check that and ensure we move to MFA instead.
Many thanks for helping! 🙂
