I removed the existing account from the Samsung Native Mail App, which was originally set up as an "Exchange Account". I then added it back using "Office 365" as the type of account, as you suggested. It made me log in with modern auth, and honored the multi-factor authentication I have on my tenant, and it worked like a champ. Thank you again for posting the solution!
After I finish my testing, would you happen to know if there's currently a single setting somewhere that will require Modern Auth for all Exchange clients accessing my tenant? I already have app passwords completely disabled in OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online.
