I have been trying to apply SP3 to Exch 2007 SP1 on Windows 2003 R2. Have had a few problems. Firstly it couldn't do the upgrade because Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange was running, and had files locked, so I had to stop that service to get it started. Then it failed because it must have taken too long too stop a particular service (MSExchangeFDS?), and not option to go back and undo what was done, only "Finish". Then it had disabled so many services (not sure which exactly, but certainly all the Exchange ones), it couldn't run again becaue Remote Registry and IISAdmin were off. I turned those back on again, and progressed further, but couldn't run because MSExchangeADT was disabled. I enabled and started that, and is progressing further again. Although I'm worried it won't re-enable all the services it disabled, and that SMSMSE won't work after upgrade either...
How can I get a list of all the services that it automatically disabled?
And by the way, why does it have an "undo" or "go back" option if it fails in the middle of the upgrade..?
I've never done an SP install as messy as this before... :(
