That is unfortunate to hear. It will cause SaaS companies, such as ours, to bear the brunt of this poor, non obvious experience mutual customers, which in turn will cause us to recommend to them other providers such as gsuite. Ours is an industry of hundreds of thousands real estate agents and their respective teams.
Right now the solution for this friction is very technical. We are left to explain to customers that they need to do something complicated in PowerShell or get involved with their IT staff. Why? Why can't this be a setting in the admin that we can point and link to?
Also why is this SMTP setting also affecting the IMAP protocol authentication?
