We are working on an implemention plan to apply the patches in one swoop.
1. Windows DST Update on servers (Windows 2000/Windows 2003 patch)
2. Windows DST updates Clients (Push out with SMS)
3. Exchange DST Patch (Exchange 2000 in our case)
4. Blackberry Server
5. Exchange/Outlook Rebasing tool.
My question is, if the process above is done right before the deadline, March 11, 2007. And handfuls of Windows clients are not turned on when the patch sent to them, will they be locked out of logging on to Active directory because the clocks on the unpatched clients will be off by 1 hour? I know that if clients are off by 5 minutes compared to the Domain controller they will not get access. Also is the time info passed from server to client in UTC or does it have Time Zone information?
