This post's goal is to serve as a word of warning when using ForeFront and SharePoint together. If you're going to disable ForeFront (or any of its services), please first disconnect SharePoint and ForeFront in Central Admin for SharePoint. If you don't, ForeFront will think that it has been attacked and will flag all of your SharePoint content as having a virus. Then by design, ForeFront will make this content unavailable in SharePoint. Several large customers have run into this problem.
