We are pleased to announce the general availability of FSLogix 2210. This latest version is focused on three core features, six bug fixes, and two general updates. We've added several new articles to our documentation and updated the configuration settings reference page.

What's new in FSLogix 2210?

FSLogix added three new features. First, VHD Disk Compaction, which allows the user's container to shrink during the sign-out phase. VHD Disk Compaction will reduce the amount of consumed storage for user's profile. Second, we've added a new process during the sign-out phase which creates an AppX package manifest for the user. This manifest is used at sign-in to re-register the AppX applications for an improved user experience. Lastly, when users delete data from within their session, we now roam the user's Recycle Bin which allows them to restore it from another session.

It's important to note that users may be required to authenticate to their applications (e.g., Microsoft 365 apps, Teams (work or school), OneDrive, etc.) at every sign-in. Check out the known issues page for more information.

    Hi Jason_Parker

Will the known issue that users may be required to authenticate to their applications (e.g., Microsoft 365 apps, Teams (work or school), OneDrive, etc.) at every sign-in be adressed in upcoming versions?

We are using RDS 2019 with FSLogix and we are have the registry value mentioned in the Known issues article to prevent lots of stale Hybrid Azure AD joined devices.

I'm not sure why this was released with such a big known issue. We use azure ad ds with avd and this version would force every user to log into each app every day. Who thinks 100s of users would be ok with this when they have not had to do this before? What is the plan to address this issue?

There are complaints of extremely long logout times, probably related to first time compressing of the profile also. People are disabling the recycle bin redirection as it's causing major problems.

  • I'd like the thank all of you for implementing this latest release and helping us uncover issues we need to address or work on. Your feedback is valuable, and we actively use this feedback to improve the product and our release process. We are putting processes in place to expand our private and public previews. This is an opportunity for customers to engage early with the product and will help us uncover issues that we can't account for in our internal testing.

Please take a moment and review the updates to our known issues page we released today.

Thanks for the answer. I guess the updated Known Issues answers our question concerning adressing the issue.

"FSLogix v2210 hotfix 1 will provide a new configuration setting which will allow customers affected by this issue to re-enable the roaming of the Azure AD broker plugin, Cloud Experience Host, and Token Broker folders within the user's profile."

Unfortunately I will have to do a rollback, since the users do not want to authenticate daily. But I will gladly install the v2210 hotfix 1 once it is released.
