MicrosoftTwo major issues with this api -
a) Autocomplete never returns latitude/longitude, geometry is documented but always is null. This means when user selects a suggestion, we need to call another api to get lat/long. Not good when compared to other apis like Radar API.
b) Autocomplete, I types 122 Victoria Road as address start, I do pass my coordinates, it gets addresses near me which has 122 xyz, 122 sjd, 122 ksh, but never uses Victoria Road, North Parramatta which is 800 km from my place but a valid address still. On a typeahead if user already wants 122 Victoria, then whats the point of showing 122 xyz kind of addresses? It should have string match option as 1st, then distance within same countryCode. Again Radar API wins here. Only problem is that their is no pay-go pricing in Radar.
Hope Autocomplete can fix lat/long part atleast for better user experience. Making a call when user selects a address in typeahead to just get lat/long is additional delay in our application, if others can get lat/long in same autocompletes, I would hope that Microsoft can too.
I am using 2026-01-01 latest api version.
