Since the launch of our vNext experience for Arc Jumpstart last year at Microsoft Ignite, we have witnessed remarkable growth in adoption, usage, and community involvement. At Jumpstart, our core mission is to foster a community-driven approach, and today, we are thrilled to unveil our latest creation – Jumpstart Drops!
Inspired by insights gleaned from our dynamic community and years of refining solutions like ArcBox, HCIBox, and Agora, Jumpstart Drops (currently in Preview) embodies our commitment to collective innovation. This new offering signifies a significant leap forward in automation and community collaboration, empowering every member to contribute to and benefit from our shared expertise.
But what exactly are “Jumpstart Drops”?
Imagine a curated collection, meticulously crafted by the community, for the community. It's a repository brimming with scripts, tools, and assorted assets tailored to streamline the daily workflows of developers, IT, OT, and Day-2 Operations professionals. Aptly named, these “Drops” are bite-sized, self-contained pieces of code designed to simplify tasks, showcase the prowess of our products and services, and cultivate a culture of mutual support and knowledge sharing.
Whether it’s a dashboard, sample app, library, script, automation, template, or comprehensive tutorial, Jumpstart Drops represents a collective effort to revolutionize how our community engages with and harnesses the power of our offerings. Together, we’re shaping the future of cloud computing.
With Jumpstart Drops we are enabling everyone to share their work and get feedback and community engagement. By creating a Drop, contributors will get all the benefits of the amazing Arc Jumpstart community, without having to spend a considerable amount of time.
Who is Jumpstart Drops for?
Jumpstart Drops is designed for anyone eager to contribute to or utilize community-driven innovations. Whether you possess a piece of code, a guide, a dashboard, or any other artifact, creating a Drop takes mere minutes and unlocks the wealth of benefits offered by the Arc Jumpstart community.
Embracing an open-source ethos, all contributions are licensed under MIT License. So, dive in, explore the collection of amazing Drops already available, and join us and the community as we share knowledge.
We got some Drops for you!
In the short time since sharing the idea with a few selected members of our community, both internally and externally, Jumpstart Drops has already become a hub of community collaboration. We're excited to highlight the significant contributions pouring in from our users.
Our community wasted no time in sharing their expertise, contributing a diverse array of Drops ranging from scripts to tools. These contributions exemplify the collaborative spirit of Jumpstart Drops, where every voice matters.
Contributing a Drop is as simple as opening a GitHub Pull Request following a simple scheme. We are also working on a streamlined “Create Drop” wizard which will walk you through the process step by step, making it effortless to submit your new Drop. With our wizard, you'll also enjoy a live preview of how your contribution will appear on the website. This ensures everything is perfect before sharing it with the community. Stay tuned, we are expecting this wizard to become available on the Jumpstart Drops homepage in the very near future. Our goal is to make contributing as easy and accessible as possible for everyone, regardless of your technical expertise or preference.
