Implementing Content Freshness protection in DFSR

So I have a case where I have a server that is a target in an existing DFS namespace and there is data in that folder very similar to the other targets because at one time it was also a member of the replication group as well. But now for whatever reason the server was removed from the replication group and the data in the target folder is stale. So If I re-add that server back to the replication group using the existing folder (used in the target mentioned above) will the content freshness see the differences between the newly added server and the existing servers and sort out the differences and continue replication to that newly added server? I hope this makes sense and any help is greatly appreciated!!
