We are excited to announce the release of 3 Azure Extensions to vscode.dev! These extensions are Azure Static Web Apps, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Resource Groups.
vscode.dev is a development tool that is a lightweight version of VSCode that runs fully in the browser. You can open a folder on your local machine and start coding immediately without any installation required.
So you might be wondering, why vscode.dev? What can I do in the browser? There is quite a bit of functionality that’s available at your grasp and that is fully discussed in this in-depth article. But for now, we will focus on the 3 Azure extensions that just shipped in this tool.
vscode.dev - Azure Static Web Apps Extension
Azure Static Web Apps is a service that automatically builds and deploys full stack web apps to Azure from a code repository. Developers can tailor their workflow and apps are built and deployed based on code changes.
Now to the cool part – vscode.dev has made creating and deploying Azure Static Web Apps super easy! Within a few clicks, developers can have their Static Web App up and running all within the browser. No more having to install “git” or going through 10+ steps to get your Static Web Apps up and running. Additionally, you can also view your GitHub Actions within vscode.dev and manage/create changes without leaving.
