After returning to the standard time on 22 September 2022, the Iran Government elected to remain permanently in the standard time, cancelling daylight saving time. Hence, Iran will permanently remain at UTC + 3:30 time zone going forward.
Microsoft will release the following Windows Updates in support of this decision. This change is available in the April 2023 Cumulative Update preview released on April 25, 2023, for the 20H2 and newer versions of Windows 10 & 11. All other supported Windows versions will receive the update as part of the May 2023 monthly quality update scheduled to release on May 9, 2023.
All Windows updates containing this fix have the following release note text:
This update affects the Islamic Republic of Iran. The update supports the government’s daylight saving time change order from 2022.
