Re: Outlook login issues with WVD - FSLogix
Mark Lunn We gave up on the D8sV3 machines, were having too many performance issues with them. We are using fewer D16sV3 machines now. Makes the cost profile less attractive, but, at least it is working for now. My guess is that it is something to do with the network performance on the D8sV3 size. We were seeing huge latency spikes to the profile shares on the host machines. Our only issue now is this whole need password thing. Still haven't gone through and nuked everyone's profile yet.8.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Outlook login issues with WVD - FSLogix
Deanbostedor Yes, Azure AD Connect. Hybrid AD Join yes, Azure AD -> Devices -> shows the WVD hosts as 'Azure AD registered' under join type. You'll see several per machine, basically one per person who has logged into that host via WVD. There is also an InTune registration once per host, with an Owner of whoever first logged into that host. Seamless SSO in place (however, I've been meaning to take a pass through the link posted in here earlier to confirm nothing was missed). So: - Confirm all Seamless SSO steps were completed - Drain Mode all Hosts in a pool, and shut them down? - Delete all session hosts from Azure AD Device list (including Intune MDM registrations?) - Delete all user profiles (from the FSLogix Storage container? or from the hosts themselves as well?) - Restart Hosts Sound like it is worth a try? Rob Blankers - am I wasting my time? Should I just go persistent?? 🙂17KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Outlook login issues with WVD - FSLogix
DAsnow With the Office 365 Container GPO setting for FSLogix, does the VHD Location need to be a different path than the Profile Container? ie. /fslogixshare/o365 vs. /fslogixshare/profile ? We had them pointed at the same share, but, did not seem to create a 365 container.24KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Outlook login issues with WVD - FSLogix
Rob Blankers Have you seen any need password issues since making that GPO change? " Use Shared Computer Activation" --Computer Config\Admin Templates\Microsoft Office 2016 (Machine)/Licensing Settings\Use shared computer activation = Enabled--"31KViews0likes26CommentsRe: WVD + FSLogix (Azure Files) with 8 x D8S-v3 for 340 users - Major performance issues
Thomas-DeWitte Same here, we are using Premium, with larger disk sizes, at least 1024 to get the througput/iops. One file share per host pool. And D16-v3s. Expensive setup, but, figured start big and ratchet it down later if needed.6.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Outlook login issues with WVD - FSLogix
Rob Blankers Thanks for that feedback on the GPO setting, we'll give that a shot. One question, are your users all using MFA? And, did the FSLogix/WVD team give any insight into where the issue might be occuring? Is it an office activation thing (presumably so) or something with InTune and the whole 'manage your computer' part? For what it's worth, I haven't seen the problem on my own account. However, I never sign out of a machine. I just disconnect. I am not sure we have seen it yet in any situation that did not involve an underlying host change.32KViews0likes9CommentsRe: WVD + FSLogix (Azure Files) with 8 x D8S-v3 for 340 users - Major performance issues
Hey, We noticed a similar performance issue with latency in the d8_vs machines. On a whim, we upgraded to d16 and dropped some hosts from the pool and are not seeing latency issues anymore. My guess is the ‘network’ is throttled or something for the smaller d8. AWS is pretty transparent about available network bandwidth by machine size, I cannot find the same info from Azure.6.5KViews0likes1CommentRe: WVD Gateway Performance Issues?
Our connections seem fine at the moment, though the WVD Tenant management site is super slow. Steve1435 - unfortunately, I bet it's a lot of folks with existing pilot setups who started having people login from home this week as more people are enacting BCP plans. It would be tough to count those as 'additional users'. It probably isn't a bunch of people spinning up new tenants. in the past few days.9.5KViews0likes5CommentsRe: WVD Gateway Performance Issues?
GuyPaddock FYI, ours cleared up now and I got a call from MS Support on my open ticket. The person did not know what to check beyond asking me to restart the VMs. I asked them to forward the ticket onto the WVD Engineering team. I happened to get an email from MS Support as well, who said the support engineers are all currently overloaded with no reliable ETA on support resolution. I sent him a link to this thread on tech community and asked him to pass onto the WVD team. I'll just have to assume they have some internal performance monitoring tools and would notice things like internet gateway saturation.9.7KViews0likes8CommentsWVD Gateway Performance Issues?
Hey Everyone, We have been chugging along just fine with our WVD installation. All of our users are remote at this point, due to COVID-19 and everything had been fine. This morning, around 9:30, we started seeing performance issues with connection to the desktop. By performance issues I mean, slow mouse movements, slow to scroll through a website or email and the like. There are no indicators of performance issues on the WVD Hosts themselves - Disk / CPU / Memory all fine. I have used Horizon View and XenDesktop in the past pretty extensively, and this felt like a scenario where bandwidth to the gateway/connection broker is saturated or is seeing high latency/packet loss. I would blame this on an individual's home internet connection or coffee shop wifi, but, it is all of my users (including myself). I wish there were some way to see or manage the performance of the WVD connection broker...but I am not aware of any. Is anyone else seeing this? I did see the thread about drops and what not, but this is not related, I do not believe.Re: Outlook login issues with WVD - FSLogix
DAsnow Hey - we had this same issue. I found that it was releated to the fact that the 'manage my computer' process was skipped when someone hopped from one host to another after a logoff/logon process. Here's what I did to fix. In Outlook, File -> Office Account Click Sign Out under user information. Now, you'll notice that clicking 'sign in' will not work with the current user information, it will just keep failing. Log in with another account (an administrator account or whatver you'd like). It will go through the process of signing in, but will eventually popup an error message as you cannot have two different accounts signed in. Close that error window...but, low and behold, it will ask you to sign into office again. At this point, put the normal user's email and password in again and it will prompt to manage this device/etc. Click through all of those screens and let it do it's thing and you should be good.92KViews0likes0Comments
