GPO to control "Turn on site safety services to get more info about the sites you visit"
I cannot find any GPO to turn off "Turn on site safety services to get more info about the sites you visit". The description states it makes a call-out to Bing which I do not want and do not use in my org.3.9KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Introducing Buy now, pay later in Microsoft Edge
Complete garbage. Remove it. At this point, I've halted all plans to move my enterprise of a few hundred users to Edge from Chrome. Only the small IT department is on it so that I can keep my eye on what crap I have disable each month. Microsoft just can't help it -- you guys have destroyed absolutely every bit of very hard-fought credibility built up over the past two years.4.7KViews3likes0CommentsRe: How to Turn Off Edge/Bing "Recommendations"
tomscharbach Microsoft, where is the option to get rid of this BS via a GPO? I swear, every version has some garbage I need to turn off. I still have not switched my enterprise to Edge from Chrome and things like this do not help.61KViews4likes1CommentRe: Microsoft Edge Chromium - Possibility to disable mobile device sync settings by GPO
Kelly_Y Hello, can this please be added as a separate GPO like originally requested? I want to use sync but I don't want that page there -- I don't support phone usage right now and don't need the headache. Thank you.5KViews0likes2CommentsFeature request: force sync functionality useless -- GPO needs a list that can't be disabled
Deleted josh_bodner The ability to force sync on was recently added to Edge but it is useless in its current form. When enabled, sync is unable to be turned off but the all the individual entries can be. What then is the point of the force sync feature? Please fix this by expanding this GPO to include a list of sync object that cannot be turned off, exactly how there is a list to disable certain items from syncing. Feedback.... It's always something.... I am still waiting to deploy Edge and if this is fixed I still have to wait through 2 more version cycles that is months away. It feels Microsoft has no idea how to develop for the enterprise anymore. Very frustrating. Thanks and I hope to dump Chrome ASAP! Edge is awesome so far and I'm using it on all my PCs.1.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: GPO requested: Suppress the "We've signed you in" prompt on first use
Deleted REVISING to make troubleshooting easier: I am testing this with Edge 86 Beta 86.0.622.19 and Dev 87.0.644.4 and it is not working on Windows 10 LTSB/1607. I tested on LTSC and up and it works fine. I have these policies enabled: Force synchronization of browser data and do not show the sync consent prompt -- Enabled Hide the First-run experience and splash screen -- Enabled The person icon in the upper right says "Sign in". Click it says "We've detected this account on your device and we need to verify it before you can complete sign in, and set up sync." So, I go to edge://sync-internals and I see this under Summary: Transport State: Disabled Disable Reasons: Account type not supported What does that mean? I am testing with an E3 account. Any help for LTSB?10KViews1like6CommentsRe: GPO to Open Files on the new Edge WITHOUT saving first. REQUIRED for Kiosks (Always Open in System)
lforbes Have you checked the new policies in Edge Beta? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-relnote-beta-channel AutoOpenFileTypes AutoOpenAllowedForURLs Those might do what you want, although its unclear if the Auto Open feature puts the files in a temp location...37KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Bookmarks and Password synchronization issue in Edge with O365 E1 Accounts
Jaradi I have run into this same issue. The browser says it is stuck on "setting up sync" and as soon as I switch to E3 it works. I have already read the documentation where E1 is not listed for sync support. My question for Microsoft is why not? It makes no sense that free Microsoft accounts can sync but when I pay for an account I cannot.2.9KViews1like0CommentsRe: Creating that list of search engines
maisondasilva I think you are asking how to turn that off... You need to the use an enterprise policy (GPO) to specify the list of search engines. There is a parameter that will disable this. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#managedsearchengines Look at the exmple provided and you will see { "allow_search_engine_discovery": true }, which you can set to false. I am not aware of a method to set it by itself or in the GUI.761Views0likes0CommentsRe: Where is sync data stored? How can I delete it from the cloud?
josh_bodner BUMP! If a user is deactivated or leaves the org, how can I delete their data? Or, if troubleshooting, how/where can I delete it myself to reset? Still silence on this. Hello, can someone from Microsoft please help?27KViews0likes6CommentsRe: GPO requested: Suppress the "We've signed you in" prompt on first use
Deleted I have Hide FRE set already with "Configure whether a user always has a default profile automatically signed in..." (not force sync because it doesn't exist yet). This window is the only one that pops up. Can you have someone take a look at this behavior? Thanks for your help!11KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Dev channel update to 86.0.587.0 is live
Dustin_Halvorson I've been waiting for this as well to complete my Enterprise rollout. GPO support for this on day 1 is a MUST Microsoft! Also, I'm hoping that the "We've signed you in" prompt can somehow be taken care of to complete this. I don't think it should necessarily be tied to forced sync though... maybe force sign-in. With this users should have a completely pop-up free auto-sync experience.14KViews0likes0Comments
