Cloud Site List Management for IE mode is in preview!
Cloud Site List Management simplifies site list management for IE mode, including but not limited to hosting the list on an authenticated cloud endpoint. You can access this experience through the Microsoft Edge site lists Org setting in the M365 Admin Center. As of today, you can opt in to Public Preview for Cloud Site List Management from the M365 Admin Center. The preview experience is focused on enabling you to store your organization’s site list for IE mode on Microsoft Edge in a compliant cloud location instead of requiring on-prem infrastructure. Within the M365 Admin Center, you can create, import, edit, and export site lists as well as audit changes to site list entries. You can publish multiple site lists to the cloud and use group policy to assign different device groups to use different site lists. More information on the experience is available at https://aka.ms/CloudSiteList. We look forward to your feedback!1.8KViews0likes4CommentsRequesting feedback on Internet Explorer mode
We’re gathering information through this 10 minute survey to understand areas where IE mode might not cover all your legacy browsing needs - https://forms.office.com/r/ctlEiJi1gD We’d like to hear of specific scenarios in your environment that aren’t handled in IE mode today and where you continue to rely on the IE11 standalone app instead. Please provide your feedback and help us prioritize the right scenarios to make IE mode work better for your needs!1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: IE to Edge 87+ redirection issues
db1080 If setting a policy to disable BEFORE installing 87, all you need to do is set RedirectSitesFromInternetExplorerPreventBHOInstall to Enabled. In this case, the BHO will not get installed with the Edge update and redirection shouldn't occur. Are you able to try if this helps? We will take a look at the RedirectSitesFromInternetExplorerRedirectMode policy and get back on what's going on.19KViews0likes1CommentRe: IE to Edge 87+ redirection issues
db1080 Thanks for reaching out. For the RedirectSitesFromInternetExplorerPreventBHOInstall policy, you're right that computer config is the only one that is affected. We'll make sure to clarify that through documentation. If set to Enable, this policy will uninstall the BHO the next time you update Edge Stable. To ensure I understand the issue with the second policy, can you please confirm that the policy does not disable redirection after being set as shown below?19KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Internet Explorer Mode with InPrivate window not working
maikwinter Thanks for your patience. Can you also check if you have the IE policy called "Turn off InPrivate Browsing" set to "Enabled" on your machine? You can find it under Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Privacy. If it is enabled, could you try the same steps after disabling the policy please?6.4KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode Greyed Out
Springer84 For managed devices, the setting should be greyed out. For unmanaged devices, the setting should be actionable. If you are seeing the opposite behavior, please let us know and we can investigate what is happening.56KViews0likes11CommentsRe: Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode Greyed Out
Mike_Bound to clarify, we are working on a policy for the first setting to "Let Internet Explorer open sites in Microsoft Edge". Until the policy is available, this setting will be hidden so as to not cause confusion. For the second setting - "Allow sites to be loaded in Internet Explorer mode", corporate devices can already use this feature using group policies available. For more information, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/edge-ie-mode-policies56KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode Greyed Out
Springer84 In order to test IE mode, the policy that Kelly pointed you to is the right one to use. The settings under Internet Explorer compatibility are meant for non-managed devices and are intentionally greyed out on managed devices, so it checks out that your users are seeing it on their home devices. We understand that having them greyed out is confusing when there is no policy backing up the setting and we're working on hiding those options when they are not meant to be actionable. Thanks for reaching out and please let us know if you have further questions!56KViews0likes20CommentsRe: Enterprise Mode in Edge Chromium leaving empty tab
eladz6 To make sure I understand the problem, are you expecting google.com to open in Internet Explorer mode and instead ending up in IE11 standalone app with Edge as is? If so, can you check if you have enabled the policy for IE mode integration? - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/edge-ie-mode-policies#configure-internet-explorer-integration If you already have the policy set and this is still an issue, can you please send over a screenshot of edge://compat/iediagnostic?3.4KViews1like6CommentsRe: Internet Explorer Mode with InPrivate window not working
maikwinter - If a site is configured to open in IE mode, what you're trying should work. To make sure I understand the problem - IE mode works for the site when you are not in InPrivate mode, but doesn't work if you open a new InPrivate window. Is that correct? Can you please send us screenshots of the edge://compat/iediagnostic page in both cases? Thanks!6.5KViews1like5CommentsRe: File Save As missing in IEMode.
Ulrich_Bernskov This is functioning as intended. Saving a link in IE mode results in a webpage being saved from the IE perspective and will always open in Edge (since the location is not on the site list). We end up having content meant for IE opening in Edge, and want to avoid possibly incorrect behavior. Can you help us understand if there is a particular scenario where this is required to work for you?15KViews0likes4CommentsRe: IE Mode closes tabs
Gleeman SimonHessBZP Apologies for the delay and thank you for reporting the issue. We believe we have identified and fixed the issue. However, since it is an IE fix, it will ship as part of the OS updates. At the moment, given the current public health situation we are prioritizing our monthly security updates (Update Tuesday) over all other optional, non-security updates. As a result, this fix is a few months out. I'll provide an update closer to release.5.5KViews1like5CommentsInternet Explorer Mode survey

An improved version of the Enterprise Mode Site list manager is now available in the Download Center - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49974 Documentation updates to follow. Improvements include: Ability to add/edit the “app=true” attribute in the site list XML using the checkbox “Standalone IE” for sites that need the Internet Explorer 11 app launched. Ability to add/edit the Allow Redirect attribute to the XML Improved v1 to v2 schema conversion to ensure that sites designated as DoNotTransition = true in v1 will get set to open in MSEdge instead of being neutral in v2 Ability to flag sites that are listed as neutral, but may have been added in error (possibly by a previous v1 to v2 migration). This check is automatically performed while converting from v1 to v2 or can be triggered by the user from File > Flag neutral sites If selecting this option has no effect, there is nothing that needs attention. Otherwise, you will see a message "Engine neutral sites flagged for review" If you believe that a flagged site is correctly configured, you can edit the site entry and click on "Clear Flag". Once you select that option for a site, it will not be flagged again.6.7KViews1like5Comments
