Re: Dev channel update to 91.0.825.0 is live
Might be another of those strange feature rollout things but when I download something a downlad icon pops "up" just to the left of the profile icon. This is bad ux in a number of ways 1. The gui gets an extra icon when you start a download 2. everything else gets shifted to the left, changing the layout and causing a distraction since the eyes a drawn to motion 3. when the download is completed the download icon changes again 4. And it's another ux change instead of focusing on fixing bugs or the huge memory consumption. HotCakeX Doesn't matter if there are on or one thousand other apps when you are in a restricted environment and they aren't allowed. Already running on LTSC so our current installs are supported for about eight years more and yes they do get old edge installed on themget rid of unused icons/functions
Due to legal or other regulatory requirements there are somethings in Edge we need to disable not to missguide our users. The first one is the user profile function. They shall not create any account in any way so how can that Icon and function be completely removed/disabled? The next one is that if someone is visiting Youtube there is a small icon How can that be removed? Our user do not have store access and even if they did they are not allowed to install anything on the corp computers - if they do it would result in disciplinary actionsRe: Top Feedback Summary for July 28
MissyQ I have sent feedback on the touch issue I made three small videos on it The first one is Edge chromium and I try to right click by holding down my finger on the link. It doesn't work and is treated as a left click (Edge Chromium touch.avi) If I do the same thing in Edge Classic it works (Edge Classic touch.avi) And as a reference I did the same thing with Edge Chromium and a mouse - it also works (Edge Chromium mouse.avi). But having to have a mouse attached to a surface pro kind of defeats the purpose of a touch screen .......Re: Top Feedback Summary for July 28
MissyQ After being away from "new-edge" for a while I'm back 😉 New case but some common Issues 1. Epub support. The company manuals and so on are in Epub format. Since the support is gone they are stuck on classic edge for that 2. Youtube right click on touch doesn't work correctly. If you are watching a video and right click on another in the "up next" column you do not get the edge menu to allow you to open in a new tab - it works in classic edge and it also works with a physical mouse 3. I know there is work being done on performance but I got a scary example. Two tabs - static text. Edge classic 28MB ram 0,1% CPU. New Edge 280MB ram 17,1% CPU. On embedded 2GB systems this is a big issueRe: No deduplication on Hyper-V 2019 Core?
gwblok Jeff-Woolsey Disk dedup should be included. Proxmox seems to be able to so it makes Hyper-V less capable than the competition. It also makes it more expensive to operate since I now can't have as many VM:s on the same storage volume and having to pay for enterprise to virtualize linux VM:s? Well that doesn't quite compute eitherimproving the touch keyboard
I would like to see some improvements to the touch keyboard. The touch keyboard - not the on screen keyboard !!! 1. dynamic size - today it's a fixed size and one size never fits all 2. make the top bar hideable. It eats a lot of screen space without any real benefits. It could get a hide/show through an fn button combo 3. Page up/page dn/home/end. those buttons really do make Windows easier to use 4. HotCakeX Consistancy in the Microsoft plattform is both relevant and important. And that standard is and has been different tones of yellow for at least 20 years. When Chrome was released in 2008 - Microsoft had yellow folders for about 10 years already so it's Chrome that is a IE copy in that matter.
