User unable to associate site with hub
Hi everyone I'm having an issue where a user is unable to associate sites with a hub site as when they click on Site Information the hub association dropdown is greyed out: They are a normal user but they are set as a site admin on the site that they are trying to associate to the hub, which as I understand it should be sufficient to allow them to do this. To be sure I also tested adding them as a site admin to the hub site as well but this made no difference. I am a SharePoint Admin and the dropdown is not greyed out for me. We've tried this on a few different sites where the user is a site admin and the dropdown is always greyed out. I've also double checked to make sure these sites aren't already associated with a hub. All the Microsoft documentation says that the only permissions required is site admin so is anyone aware of anything that has changed? As mentioned SharePoint Admin access seems to allow it but this isn't something that would be rolled out to every user who wanted to associate sites with a hub. Thanks in advance for any assistance you could give with this.4.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: Exporting Teams meeting chat with Content Search
kellylighter I found this link about the Teams Export APIs which sounds promising: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/export-teams-content It looks like extra licensing is needed though so I need to put some time aside to have a good look at it to see if this could make my life a bit easier.15KViews1like0CommentsRe: License error for Teams to Teams external call
ChrisHoardMVP I've spoken with the affected user and it seems that she was typing the external e-mail address into the calls app in Teams and this does indeed give the same error when I try it: However, I then showed her how to search for the external user using the main search bar in Teams and this worked fine: Once the external user is added this way it is then possible to search for them using the search function in the calls app.8.5KViews1like1CommentLicense error for Teams to Teams external call
Hi everyone One of our users is trying to call an external Teams user by searching for their e-mail address and then initiating a call. However, when they do this they get the error message below: I can make external Teams to Teams calls with no issue and this message doesn't appear. I'm under the impression that no additional calling plans/licenses are needed for external Teams to Teams calls so I'm not sure why this would appear?Solved8.8KViews1like3CommentsIssue with spell check in Edge
I'm having an issue with spell check not working as expected in Microsoft Edge. For some reason it works fine in OWA but doesn't work in other web apps such as Power Apps and the tech community forums. I've checked and spell check is turned on for the correct language in Edge. My version of Edge is 91.0.864.59 but then another user in my organisation with the same version is not having the issue I'm having and spell check for them is working fine in Edge. Has anyone else experienced this issue and is there anything else I can check? Thanks in advance for your help.628Views0likes0CommentsRe: Printing or opening pdf from SharePoint site embedded in Teams tab
adam deltinger Yeah it's added as a website tab as the users in this team access their SharePoint site via Teams. In this example they've navigated to the library through the site and tried to print. I've also tested this by adding the document library as a separate tab and also adding the SharePoint site using the built-in SharePoint option when adding a tab but with these there is no print option available at all and to print you need to open the document in SharePoint. I assume this is expected behaviour at this time and hopefully printing pdfs directly from Teams will be added at some point.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsPrinting or opening pdf from SharePoint site embedded in Teams tab
Hi everyone One of our teams has a channel tab that displays the team's SharePoint site. This works fine but we seem to have run into an issue when users want to print the pdf directly from within Teams. If they click the Print button they get the following message to say they have to install an app from the Windows Store: However, this doesn't happen if they open the same document in SharePoint in a browser. Has anyone else run into this issue before as I've had a look and can't seem to find anything?1.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Exporting Teams meeting chat with Content Search
VasilMichev I finally sorted my issue which was that I didn't have the right level of permissions to preview and export the actual results. I can do this now but I have another query. As I want to export the chat for a normal meeting i.e. not a channel meeting I think I have to choose a user who was in the meeting as the mailbox/Teams account to search? Firstly, is this correct as this means that any private messages they happened to send while attending the meeting will also be included in the results which isn't appropriate as this export will be a record kept for other users to refer back to if required? If what I'm doing is the right way to do this does anyone know a way of excluding private messages from the search and only showing meeting-related messages? At the moment I can't see anything that differentiates them. Thanks in advance for any help.18KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Get all Teams and channel information using PowerShell
amkaccion1966 I've just tested this my end and the script seems to show both public and private channels. The Get-TeamChannel should show all channels regardless of whether they're public or private and this is what's used in the script. If you go into the Teams Admin Centre and view team details via the Manage Teams can you see private channels for a team that has them there?104KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Exporting Teams meeting chat with Content Search
VasilMichev Thanks for the reply. After I've run the content search query I'm clicking on Export Report which gives me an Excel output similar to the below: Should the message details also appear in this report? I'm trying to find the easiest way of providing the chat for a Teams meeting but I'm not sure if this is going to be possible at the moment?18KViews0likes5CommentsExporting Teams meeting chat with Content Search
I've been asked to export the chat from a couple of meetings held at our company recently and having looked into it was hoping to do this with Content Search on the Compliance Centre. I have run a search against one of the people present for the meeting and then exported the results which worked fine. However, in the export I can see all the details about the messages in the meeting chat such as sender, date sent etc but I can't actually see the messages themselves i.e what each person actually wrote? Without this the export is a bit pointless as the whole point of the request was so the ideas and action points discussed in the meetings could be collated. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, am I just doing something wrong? I'm hoping so as I can't see any other way of exporting messages from Teams? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.Solved18KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Small icon for Power App uploaded to Teams
Nikitha-MSFT Thanks for your reply. For now I'm getting around this problem by exporting the Power App but then replacing the outline.png icon with a custom 32x32 image. This looks a bit better as the icon is more like the size of the other Teams app icons.5.7KViews1like3CommentsSite Navigation Audience Targeting
Hi everyone I'm playing about with the navigation audience targeting and have a query about the groups that are available to be added as an audience. I want to add some links that are only visible for site owners but I don't seem to be able to choose any owners groups. In the example below if I start typing the name of the site I only get the members group as an option, and if I type owners no results are found: I wondered whether site owners always saw every link regardless of audience targeting and that's why they can't be selected. However, I've tested this by setting a link to a group that I'm not a member of and even though I'm a site owner I couldn't see the link so don't think this is the case. Does anyone know why I can't seem to select the owners group? I'd be grateful for any help received. Thanks in advance.2KViews3likes2CommentsRe: Small icon for Power App uploaded to Teams
Nikitha-MSFT Thanks for the link but I've had a look and can't seem to find anything about the icon size for embedding in Teams? Just for clarity, the icon I'm using isn't a custom icon, it's one of the standard out of the box icons that you can add to your app in the app settings screen in PA.6KViews0likes6CommentsSmall icon for Power App uploaded to Teams
Hi everyone I've just uploaded a Power App to Teams for the first time and I have a slight issue with the way the icon looks once it's in Teams. In my app settings the icon size looks normal: However, when I add it to Teams, the icon looks really small: Is there anything that can be done about this? It's not the end of the world but it would look nicer if the icon on my custom app was the same size as the other app icons in Teams.6.4KViews0likes10CommentsEnable versioning on a large library
Hi everyone I have a large library with around 50,000 documents at the moment which currently has versioning disabled. I have been playing around with the new trigger in Power Automate called When an item or a file is modified, but to use this versioning has to be turned on. My question is will I run into any issues turning versioning on for a library that already has 50,000 files in it? I've never done this on a library of this size and it's a production library to boot so I don't want to turn it on and cross my fingers 🙂943Views0likes1CommentRe: ModernHillbillyTabs stopped working
Woodsta_GRSS I did some digging about but couldn't find any reason for this to stop working. Weirdly I've checked this evening and it seems that the web part is working again so not sure if yours is working as well? The only thing I can assume is that something happened on Microsoft's side that affected the web part but this has now been resolved?3.9KViews0likes1CommentModernHillbillyTabs stopped working
Hi everyone We use an SPFX webpart called Hillbilly Tabs, which displays separate sections of a modern SharePoint page in a tabbed format. This is useful for us with some pages that contain a lot of information, and the tabbed format means users don't have to do lots of scrolling up and down the page. More info on the web part can be found below: https://github.com/mrackley/ModernHillbillyTabs This has worked fine for months but since Friday the sections don't show up in the tabs and just appear down the page. Clicking the tabs doesn't do anything. I've checked the F12 developer tools console and can't see anything that indicates any errors etc so I'm not sure why it's stopped working. I've even tried creating a new page with the tabs web part but the same issue persists. I suppose my question is in two parts: 1 - Does anyone else use this web part and have the same issue at the moment? 2 - Does anyone use any other web parts to achieve the same goal of splitting the sections of a modern page into tabs? I'd be really grateful for any help anyone can give. Thanks in advance.4.1KViews0likes3CommentsModernHillbillyTabs stopped working

Hi everyone We have a number of external users who use one of our SharePoint sites to assign tasks to other users in our organisation. Each task is assigned using a people picker field on the form and this all works fine. Recently we had some users leave the company and their accounts have been removed from Office 365 and also don't show in the SharePoint user profile service. If I (as an internal user) go into the form and search for these users in the people picker they don't appear. However, if one of our external users do the same they can still search for and select the old accounts in the form? I'm not sure how this is happening. The last user profile sync ran last Friday afternoon and I can't search for these old users at all. I wondered if there's anything that would be preventing the external users from seeing changes made by the user profile service but I can't imagine that would be the case? Any ideas would be welcomed as I'm at a bit of a loss as to how this is happening. Thanks in advance for your help.689Views0likes0Comments
