Re: There was a problem validating data
I'm having the same issue and tried all of the fixes suggested. I did a fresh install of Chrome and it worked until a did a refresh of my browser. Then the same annoying error. Since it was a clean install of Chrome I had it delete ALL of my browser history, cookies, cache... the works. And then it started working again. It seems like the issue is something in the cache messing up the vailidation. It's annoying but at least I didn't have to recreate my list and I'll deal with it for now.11KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Users are unable to share links with external users and request files
john john Yes, file request requires anyone/anonymous links. It's kinda frustrating, I'd like to enable that feature for my users but we have a policy against anyone links. And the default sharing link is an anyone link as well.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Group calendars appeared automatically
BobaFett The Team: Peter area has to do with who your manager is in AD/Azure AD. For example, my manager's name is Andrew and all of our department members' calendars are grouped together. The All Groups Calendars section shows all of the Office 365 group calendars that have been displayed to the GAL, which includes Group calendars tied to Teams. You can turn off the Teams group with PowerShell but that will affect the entire tenant. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/hide-office-365-groups-from-the-gal8.3KViews1like2CommentsRe: Users are unable to share links with external users and request files
Hi john john , On the Who can share outside of your organization setting, it looks like you have the wrong box checked off. You don't have the one for anonymous links. Without that checked off anyone links will be blocked. Hope that helps! 🙂1.7KViews1like2CommentsRe: Meetings vs Calendar views in Teams - why are they different?
Hi AlexH980 The new calendar became available in my tenant as well and I saw quite a few people post about it on Twitter on Friday. My tenant is under no NDAs, we're just a normal tenant with general release for the users and a few admin have targeted release enabled. It seems like the new feature rolled out waaaayy before it was set to (Q1 2020). I went ahead and let my users know about the change with the heads up that this was released early. Just in case they pull it back. 😉 Here's the link to the feature in the Roadmap: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Teams%2CIn%20development&searchterms=485163.4KViews1like1CommentRe: Favorite channels
Hi Janmo0, They replaced the Follow/Favorite a channel with the new Notifications and Show/Hide menu options. Here's a writeup from Microsoft on it that goes over the changes: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/favorite-or-follow-a-channel-in-teams-91a37043-acea-49b0-9dfc-aec37b2e92b81.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Individual email notification when a task is complete
Hi aballard, I'm guessing these are Planner tasks. One thing you can do is create a flow that fires when a task on the plan is completed. Here's the Flow: Trigger: Planner - When at Task is completed. You can get the Group ID from the URL of the Plan in Planner. Acton: Get My Profile (v2) Condition: Assigned by User ID from "When a task is completed" eq ID from "Get my profile" If yes Action: Send Email and you can have your email address pulled from the Get my Profile Action1.3KViews1like0CommentsRe: Teams desktop app opens documents twice
Kevin Jansen Thanks for posting this. You received much more info than I did. LOL here's my response from MS: I have checked the update with my technical lead and we are certain that the issue will be resolved for your tenant as well once the changes have been rolled out. Kindly request you to wait for the upcoming update as this would be a permanent resolution. Please let me know if you need any further assistance with this regards. I will be happy to assist you further. Awaiting your response.8.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: Send GIF/images in Teams meeting
Hien_Tran Were you joining a meeting organized by an external person (and you're not a guest on their tenant)? If so then that's the way it works. GIFs & images are only available to internal users or guest users in meetings/chats. There is a UserVoice going to add this feature is you want to vote it up. 🙂 https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/35469919-inclued-emojis-and-gifs-on-chat-with-external-team23KViews0likes1CommentRe: Teams desktop app opens documents twice
mjennes Still happening with us... We're on ProPlus and it's happening on multiple systems. (E3 licensing)... MS is still working on the ticket at this point it's been open for a week and they are still looking at the log files I sent... I'm glad you're up and running though! 🙂17KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Change/replace Company name in Teams free
PabloCoca You can't rename a Teams Free org or even an Office 365 tenant. But what you can do is create a new team with the correct name, invite the members to the new team and delete the old one. Here's a writeup on how to delete a Free Team org: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/delete-your-teams-free-organization-2c28cfcf-3fbf-497c-938f-8815a8f6a6b938KViews1like3CommentsRe: What's the best way to handle when an employee leaves the company? OneDrive and Email access
Kelemvor333 To preserve all of the emails I would do what others have said and set litigation hold on the mailbox. That way you'll be able to search the mailbox as an admin even if you delete the AD object and the license. For mailboxes that need to be converted to shared mailboxes, they do still need the AD object and they are limited to 50GB and do not include an archive. One way to get around the AD object tie is to delete the AD account. Let AD Connect Sync and you'll see the mailbox go into the Deleted Mailbox recycle bin. Wait a bit and restore the mailbox from O365. This will convert it to a cloud mailbox that no longer ties to the AD object. Keep an eye on that mailbox though as I've seen the sync try and delete the mailbox again, but it will stick. I've done this with mailboxes I've converted to shared and mailboxes that still required an Exchange license to do the size.51KViews1like0CommentsRe: Duplicate Organizations & Users in Microsoft Teams (mac)
Rebecca570 I hear ya, hopefully, at least some do call in. It's funny that when you create a new O365 tenant you can't use a company name that's already in use. We actually have the issue where one of our resellers may have created a test tenant with our software name so now we as the owners of the company name can't use it. But.... Teams free can have a bunch of organizations with the same name. LOL Good luck to ya and happy to help! 🙂11KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Teams crashes when editing Excel file by "Open in Desktop App"
zhiyuan_chen Another test to see if it's really the Teams application is to open Teams from your browser and try and open the file from there. If it's def the app and all of the other suggestions don't work, you might want to open a ticket with MS.22KViews0likes1CommentRe: Duplicate Organizations & Users in Microsoft Teams (mac)
Oh no... from the write up it looks they'd all have to call MS to have the orgs removed... It really does work great once you've got it up and running. It sounds like your initial implementation went a little sideways. My company has about 100 teams for all different purposes, (departmental teams, project management, cross-functional groups, we even have a Dungeon and Dragons team and a Book Club)11KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Any way to @mention a channel from a private message?
clkoontz3 You can get a link to a channel or conversation and then paste that into your private message. (Just click the ... next to the channel or conversation for the link) You can't @mention and channel in a private chat. The @mention is more to send an alert to the user/team/channel that you need them to look at a message or document. It's not for creating links.3KViews1like1CommentRe: Duplicate Organizations & Users in Microsoft Teams (mac)
Rebecca570 Hmmmm, if you can find out who the owner of the second organization is they should be able to remove all of the members and delete the free organization. The trick will be finding out who the owner of the second team is. Whomever it is should have the Manage org option available in their Teams settings. Members can also leave a free Team but they may end up leaving the wrong one so your best bet is to have the owner remove the members. Here's the write up on how to delete an Teams Free Org: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/delete-your-teams-free-organization-2c28cfcf-3fbf-497c-938f-8815a8f6a6b911KViews0likes5Comments
