Long wait for initial load of this site
There are numerous topics about slowness of this site going back for years (before recent update, which was already so long ago). But what i am experiencing for the past few months is something different. Every time i come to this site first time and say click a link in RSS feed for one of the blog articles i have to wait up to a minute for it to start loading anything (it shows an empty page and loading animation in the browser). After that it would be loading pages quick (well, normal speed for this site, which is still sluggish). But if i do not browse here for 30 min or longer then again first load will be annoyingly long. It is like there is some load balancer/throttling for each new visitor and you have to stand in line.27Views0likes1CommentRe: Updates to community platform
Well, i do something get response from MS when i comment on blog posts and once even had a private discussion with i think Outlook product manager (just a few comments back and forth). It was years ago, this person is not in Outlook team anymore, i think. Once someone from OneNote team contacted me about testing new version and gathering feedback, but after a few messages ghosted me :) Sometimes you can get a glimpse of an idea you can actually talk to someone there. But most of the time it's just barking at the moon. But hey, at least there is something. I for sure have no clue how to get a hold of anyone from Google :D Well, maybe if you have a contract with them, but not like this in a public space. Btw, there is another thing you haven't listed. Feedback Portal. Thousands of comments there with maybe one or zero upvotes, in a void.34Views0likes0CommentsRe: Updates to community platform
I've never had my comment removed to my knowledge and i don't think there is an approval process as i often see spam comments. I don't think it was ever on a level of MSDN forums. I am only reading blogs for news. Haven't participated in other discussions (other than here about community) in years. Mainly because it is so awfully slow. I don't have time for this :) I don't know if you can contact a moderator. Other than posting in this space, but it seems abandoned for some time.84Views0likes2CommentsUpdates to community platform
There were no release notes/updates posts for 6+ months. Performance of this site is just getting worse. I wonder if there is anyone still working on this. It is a lottery whether this site will load or error our on you with Internal Server error. Even when it loads it takes 15 seconds or so sitting on blank page before it even starts to load (both desktop and mobile). But not always. It is like your first connection after a while goes through some process and then it is a bit snappier. Quality of life changes would also be nice like adding back comment content to email notifications. Because site notifications are bad, often reset and show everything as new. Also, clicking on notification should take you to comment, not to top of the article and having you to scroll all the way down (such a pain on mobile).337Views1like10CommentsRe: All notifications on mobile show as new
This is still happening and not just on mobile. Just now all notifications were shown as new on desktop. I think this is a part of a problem this site cannot remember logins and you relogin every day. Everything after last big update on this site is just one big mess.40Views0likes0CommentsMake email notifications not go to junk on Outlook.com
Not a first time i notice i missed a lot of messages from posts i subscribe to to only find all of them in the Junk folder on Outlook.com. C'mon, aren't you the same company? 🙂 Seems like it started happening 5/7. Every time i mark it as not junk, but it keeps happening.590Views1like3CommentsMake indexing in web version less taxing
Every time i open my To Do account on a new machine or new browser i have to deal with enormous lagginess and can't use To Do for 15+ minutes. I have thousands of completed tasks. I am guessing it tries to cache/sync them. But why it locks its web UI in the process? The other day it happened on all my machines where i use it every day. Just started lagging horribly with CPU being pegged to 100% by Edge and Windows Indexing service. I guess, you changed something and had to resync all the tasks. And i had to deal with it every morning while switching to a new machine. While mobile and desktop app were working fine. Only web version is this sub optimal. And i prefer web version over desktop, because it is plain and simple and it allows to resize steps panel more than desktop version.356Views0likes0CommentsHow to get Windows Copilot?
We have a few users who has M365 Copilot preview. It works for them in Outlook, mobile, etc. Recently we have pushed Windows 11 23H2, also set policy to allow Windows Copilot. But it is not appearing for them in Windows. When will it be available or is it not the part of preview?1.2KViews1like3CommentsCan't start typing in first email on Outlook start
Not sure where to better report this (Feedback form in Outlook itself is not working for me). Have noticed recently, probably after February update of Office 365, that when i start Outlook and press reply for the first time, the cursor in the reply disappears and nothing happens when i start typing. So i have to press in the reply field to make cursor appear again. As it is happening on two computers, seems to be a glitch in Office. Wow, i was googling same thing after almost 4 years. This thing still happening so often and now after December 2022 updates it is stuck again with F. F.. this app and MS. Uninstalling this app from all my machines and giving it 1 star in the store. What a crappy developer.1.6KViews0likes0CommentsForcing MS Store apps updates
Our vulnerability scanning software is finding a bunch of workstations with unpatched Photos, codecs and other apps that usually come and update via MS Store. It is around 10% of a whole fleet. After a bit of tinkering we are guessing that it doesn't update on its own if user never opened Store and logged in via SSO to M365 account. Although it seems unlikely that 90% of users were opening Store. It could also be something related to VPN/proxy/network, but we don't see a viable pattern. We have Store for Business. It is managed by another team which we can reach out to if needed (they manage whole M365 service). Intune is not currently in use and i only know that they are preparing to test Autopilot. It might be possible to do something in Intune, if we find correct people with access, etc. Tried looking whether it is possible to somehow install updates "offline", by downloading some package, pushing it via deployment tools, maybe with some script. Haven't found anything yet. Does anyone have any working solution to achieve that. Scripts, Intune policy, something else? Other than asking thousands of users to open Store and login 🙂630Views0likes0CommentsRe: Notifications do not lead to comments
Noticed today in Firefox, that when i clicked on notification about receiving a like it opened blog article and after loading for a few seconds scrolled down to my comment and even flashed a border around it. Tried different notifications. Most of the time it works, but not always. I think it fails when there are multiple pages of comments. But this is an improvement. Worked in mobile Chrome as well.1.8KViews0likes1Comment
