Re: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
The same feature id:54792954 fixes the problem also in Canary Build 27818.1000 when that feature id is enabled. Still Microsoft did not propagate the fix to public Build 26100.3476 nor R.P. Build 26100.3613. We'll see how long it will take before they roll out the fix to all 24H2 affected builds. Hopefully not 4 more months. 🤣🤣🤣🤬 Yet, in Dev Build 26120.3576 they tried another experimental fix and dropped 54792954. Unfortunately, those changes added another bug which causes File Explorer to crash with exception code 0xc0000005 when trying to cut and paste any system image backup files from one folder to another. There are way too many different feature IDs enabled to figure out which one is causing the new bug which started happening on March 22, 2025. 😵💫🤬🤷♂️ Way too many experiments MS is doing under the cover are causing all these inconsistent behaviors and adding extra bugs. I really hate the inconsistencies that they keep creating with their experiments. I'm afraid this is not yet the end of this saga. 😵💫😝🤬375Views1like0CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
Microsoft is finally rolling out an official experimental fix to some users with Build 26120.3380. The fix is not propagated to all the other 24H2 builds and Canary yet. Hopefully they will make up their mind. This issue has been around for over 4 months. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷♂️ At least it finally works without adding the extra bug on closing File Explorer. Will see how long it will take to get the same fix on all the affected builds. 😎🤬🤷♂️ On March 22, 2025, I tried enabling the same feature id:54792954 in Canary Build 27818.1000 and it works on that Build too. 👍 The same feature id is still not working on 26100.3476. Looks like MS did not propagate the fix yet to current public build. 😝🤷♂️125Views1like2CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
There is a tool called vivetool that allows disabling or enabling those MS experimental features. You can search the web for information on how to get that vivetool and how to use it. The admin command for this specific case will be vivetool /disable /id:51960011 Then reboot and check again. As you can see here from the /query option, Microsoft enabled it in the ImageDefault. That is the experimental feature that added the bug. 😝🤬🤷♂️ Disabling it eliminates the problem. 😉 At least until Microsoft screws up again. 🤣🤣🤣106Views2likes1CommentRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
It was reported to MS months ago that the bug was caused by that completely useless 51960011. They are still ignoring the facts and keep enabling that feature id by default on every 24H2 build and also on Canary. They tried yet another different fix recently (on Feb 14, 2025) by enabling another feature 54792954 which was originally meant for a completely different purpose in 23H2. 😵💫😂 That feature id actually fixes your case with 125% scale, but unfortunately it adds a new different bug on closing File Explorer. Typical MS geniuses! Fix one bug by adding another new one. 🤣🤣🤣🤬🤬🤬227Views1like0CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
On Feb 14, 2025, the MS blog for Build 26120.3281 says that the problem is fixed. That is not quite true, it appeared to be fixed on one machine but not another with the same exact Build number. Fixed an issue causing the see more “…” menu in the command bar to open in the wrong direction for some resolutions. After some further testing, I figured out the difference for Build 26120.3281. The different behavior is caused by one of those experimental features that was enabled on a Beta machine and not on another in Dev channel with the same exact Build. Feature id [54792954] (Labels on file explorer context menu) is the cause of the difference. That feature is the one that added the labels under the icons in the context menu of 23H2, which is not needed in 24H2, because those labels are already added without that experimental feature. With this build 26120.3281, it seems to fix the 3 dots menu problem too but adds the second problem for the F.E. not closing just with a click on the red. X. 🤣🤣 Not a good choice, if I enable id:54792954 I have one bug (F.E. closing bug), if I disable it, I get the other bug (3 dots menu opening upwards). Come on MS fix this mess properly!749Views2likes0CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
That bug has been reported for months in the Feedback Hub and Microsoft didn't do anything to fix it yet. The bug was introduced by a useless experimental fix. [51960011] (FileExplorerTabLineFix). Disabling that failing fix, eliminates the problem. Microsoft is just ignoring the FBH reports. 😝🤬891Views0likes0CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
The problem is not just on insider builds it is also on current 24H2 public build 26100.2894. Microsoft has not released a valid fix for this problem yet. The bug was added when they enabled, by default, on all 24H2 builds an experimental fix for a completely different issue. Not only that fix did not work, instead it added this extra bug on file explorer opening the 3 dots menu in the wrong direction. An easy workaround is by disabling the bad useless fix which added this bug. The culprit is the feature id below that is causing this bug: [51960011] (FileExplorerTabLineFix) If you disable it, the bug will go away. 😉🤷♂️ The problem has been reported months ago, Microsoft tried to fix it, but the released fix only worked partially for some specific Display Scale setting. Still fails with Display Scale of 125%, 150%, 175% etc. It may work with Scale of 100%, 200%, 300%. Disabling the feature id:51960011 eliminates the problem completely with any display settings. 😉👌 You can see here that it was enabled in the ImageDefault of all 24H2 Builds and also latest Canary Build 27774.1000. That is how MS added this annoying bug. 🤬 The workaround is showing up on several non-MS web sites and even MS Copilot will point to that unofficial workaround to eliminate the problem while waiting for an official good working fix. 😂😂😉🤷♂️224Views0likes0CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
There is an easy way to fix the bug, by disabling that useless feature ID 51960011 that MS enabled by default on all 24H2 builds. It was reported several times to Microsoft, but they just seem to ignore the FBH reports. 🤷♂️ The problem happens when the Display Scale settings is 125%, 150%, 175% etc. Does not fail with Scale of 100%, 200%, 300%.1KViews1like6CommentsRe: File explorer "see more" tab always opens upwards 24H2
That bug has been reported months ago, but Microsoft guys are ignoring it. They tried a fix that only works with specific display settings, but still fails when the Display Scale is 125%, 150%, 175%, etc. The bug was added when they enabled another experimental fix for a completely different issue. The experimental fix did not work at all and instead it added this silly bug with the 3 dots menu opening upwards. This below is the culprit id they enabled in the image default of every 24H2 Build and also on Canary. [51960011] (FileExplorerTabLineFix) Disabling the id above gets rid of the problem, but the guys at Microsoft are not listening to the FBH reports. 🤬 What does it take to wake them up?548Views2likes2CommentsRe: File Explorer bug - Windows 11
This is a bug common to all Windows 11 24H2. It was added when MS enabled an attempted fix for a completely different issue, it actually did not fix anything and instead added this annoying bug. The culprit is this feature id that is now enabled in the Image Default of all 24H2 builds and also Canary. MS is ignoring the FBH reports on this subject and after months this bug is still unresolved or only partially solved for some Display configurations with specific Display Scale. If I disable this useless feature id below, the problem goes away with any display configuration. 🤣👌 [51960011] (FileExplorerTabLineFix) When is MS going to admit that the feature id above is the one that added the bug?101Views0likes0CommentsRe: Message Code 715-123130
Ignacio_O_M The last couple of days I've been getting this error message every time I try to download an ISO file from Microsoft. I got it the first time when I tried to reproduce this message posted by another user. But now I have no way of get rid of it. How do we get Microsoft to remove this silly lock from my user ID? I'm in the US Pacific Coast. I'm not hiding my location; location services are enabled. I found this comment on an old post on the same error situation. Quote from an MS employee: "Please do not continue to retry. It is not related to your location or browser. Retries can make the situation worse for you and prevent us from being able to clear it."2.4KViews0likes0Comments
