Thanks for your feedback requesting the ability to have ongoing sync between Microsoft Edge and Chrome. While we recognize this need, we’re currently focused on creating great 1st party sync experiences with your Microsoft account and Work or School account. If you are a Chrome user today, you already have option available to import all your data from Chrome to have Microsoft Edge personalized with all your browsing data. If you are still looking for ongoing sync between Microsoft Edge and Chrome, please share some more details about your scenario. Why would you like an ongoing sync between the two? What problem would it solve for you? Do you expect to leverage this ongoing sync only for a short period of time (for instance during initial assessment of Microsoft Edge) or for long period (continue to use multiple browsers)? How would the absence of this ability change your perspective on Microsoft Edge adoption? Would the creation of a Chrome extension fulfil your requirement? HotCakeX Thanks for quick response. We totally understand that this is a big concern and disrupts your workflows. We have made some fixes but are still working on fully resolving this at high priority. Really appreciate your patience. pivotrobert your issue is different than other issues reported on this thread. Few questions - How long have you been in this state? HotCakeX We do have a fix in place for deleted favorites coming back. This fix has not yet reached stable channel. If you are able to reproduce this behavior without a stable channel in mix (or after taking in next update to stable channel), we will be happy to investigate it further. trandall we do expect data to sync across channels of the new Edge browser. I suspect one of your channels hitting some error preventing sync to work end to end. You can visit edge://sync-internals to get a hint on which device might be causing this. Please submit in-app feedback from both devices allowing us to look into this. ismail sürek Hi All, apologies for delay in updating this thread. We ended up disabling favorites sync temporarily in past to fix some critical bugs which could lead to corruption of user data (for instance duplicate favorites). Bugs have been resolved and we have enabled favorites sync across all the channels. As the clients come back to life, we expect some instances where users might perceive some deleted favorites come back. However once all your clients are syncing, any subsequent actions should propagate fine. If you see unexpected behavior, please continue to submit in-app feedback. nidde nOrphf Thanks for your patience and apologies for delay in response here. I believe there are two topics in this thread 1. For accounts getting message of "Sync is not available for this account" - this is expected to show up when your account does not meet the pre-requisites needed for sync (for instance AAD premium accounts, correct configuration etc.) Please review the summary here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-enterprise-sync . This covers both the pre-requisites as well as configuration needed for sync to work. 2. There is a second bucket of errors reported where encryption management ran into error. This is expected to impact the account and thus will prevail on all devices (you should see crypto error on edge://sync-internals for this bucket). We are working on in-app control for users to reset their cloud data. However that is still further out. In the meantime, we are preparing and verifying a manual process allowing users to request deletion of their cloud data. I am hoping that we will be able to offer this manual set of instructions soon while we work on right long term solution in parallel.
