Linking to meaning of terms in a Form
Hi guys, I'm looking at creating a questionnaire for work but there might be some complicated terms in it which I'll need to define. I don't want to clutter up the look of the form so is there a way of having a link where hovering over the term will bring up a note or a dialogue box, showing what the term means? Thanks, Amber2.8KViews0likes7CommentsRe: how to cancel a cloned booking page
I'm an administrator for our page too and I also don't have that option. I guess it will depend on what level of access to it our respective organisations have given us or how it's been set up by them. Looking at the screenshots from V-resud it looks like you can manage whether you are a member of the site and leave it so people can't book with you. That doesn't look like it's trying delete it altogether so the duplicate will still be sat somewhere and maybe people will book with others if they can't leave or get confused as to how to book. Maybe administrators can't leave and have to be team members first?2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Hide "Create" button
I think this will need to be switched off by your IT department. Bookings can only be enabled or disabled by them. You should still be able to share your page with others but they won't be able to create. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/bookings/turn-bookings-on-or-off?view=o365-worldwidehttps://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/bookings/turn-bookings-on-or-off?view=o365-worldwide519Views0likes0CommentsRe: how to cancel a cloned booking page
Claudia1197 Due to the nature of Bookings it sets up a page as more like a mailbox - it goes into the Azure directory. The only way we've been able to delete it is by asking our IT department to delete it from that directory. Have you tried this?2.8KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Can I blur certain privacy sensitive information after recording a video?
Joan_van_den_Heuvel Weirdly I've just been asked the same thing. The only way I can think of is inserting your video into a PowerPoint, adding blurred shapes over the sensitive data and then re-rendering. That will take some organising though as it can be difficult to make the shapes appear and disappear at the right time. Some more specialist software like Camtasia allows you to do it quite easily. I'd say probably the easiest option is to create dummy data and use that for your video though. Is that going to be possible?Admin Accounts Making Themselves Site Owners
Hi everyone, I've made a SharePoint site from scratch and when I logged on the other day to look at permissions, I found that an ICT admin had made themselves an owner of the site. I don't know why as it's nothing to do with IT - they have never been involved in the site I did it all from scratch myself. I've now kicked them out but they still have access to a load of documents as an owner. What I want to know is: 1) How do I stop people adding themselves as owner? 2) How do I stop them having access to the documents? Any help gratefully received. Hi everyone, I've got a Microsoft Teams site and I want to add the Planner app to keep all of our project tasks together. There might be occasions where we need to check what was done on a specific day by going back to view the schedule but as soon as you click the task is complete it disappears from there. Is there a way to get round this? Thanks, Amber18KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Document Library 'Holding Area'
Norman YoungMe again! I have looked into this a little more and it says that I need to activate the Content Organizer feature but when I try I get this error message: Site The Site scoped feature being activated has a dependency on hidden Site Collection scoped feature 'FeatureDefinition/15/0c8a9a47-22a9-4798-82f1-00e62a96006e' (ID: '0c8a9a47-22a9-4798-82f1-00e62a96006e'). Hidden features cannot be auto-activated across scopes. There may be one or more visible Site Collection scoped features that auto-activate the dependent hidden feature. Any ideas what this means?1.5KViews0likes3CommentsDocument Library 'Holding Area'
Hi everyone, I need to create a document library in a SharePoint. We have a system that will send the required documents to that library automatically. However these will need to be reviewed to ensure they are correct before they are released for groups to see. Is there a facility in SharePoint where documents can go into a holding area or not be visible to groups until they are approved? Thanks as always.1.6KViews0likes6CommentsSharepoint Groups within Groups
Hi everyone, I have a quick question about groups on SharePoint. Is it possible to create a group within a group? I have an overall area and then several teams in that area. I need some people to access the overall area and some people only to access specific teams. Alternatively, would it just be easier to set up specific teams as groups and then grant multiple access to the people that need to see the overall area? Any advice greatly appreciated as always. :)Solved3.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: How do I create a Sharepoint glossary without using an app?
CindyZThanks so much for that. I have set it up as instructed but I think I've fallen at the last hurdle! I've created all the views and created a table with all my hyperlinks. However when I click on the hyperlinks it takes them away to a new page. I really want the glossary to all be in one page (as your example) but I can't seem how to do it. I'm sure this is a simple fix but could you please advise? Thank you, Amber41KViews0likes3CommentsHow do I create a Sharepoint glossary without using an app?
Hello everyone, Me again! I'm wondering if you can give me some advice about to create a glossary in SharePoint. The topic my SharePoint is about is quite complicated and I want an easily searchable glossary of terms. Unfortunately our IT department won't let me download the free app that I've seen suggested without applying for them to look at it, test it etc. This process is likely to take several months. Because of the length of time and with no guarantee of being able to have it at the end of it, I really need to create the glossary from scratch. Ideally I'm looking for a navigation bar with the letters of the alphabet and then being able to click on the letter to bring up all terms starting with that letter. Does anyone know a simple way of doing this? Thanks in advance as always, Amber42KViews2likes15CommentsRe: Sharepoint Features Disappearing
Paul Chapman Bernhard Straub Thank you both for your feedback, I really am beginning to go mad with this going wrong. I am using Microsoft Edge because that is the only thing installed on my work computer. I am not sure if I would be allowed to request Chrome or Firefox but I might take a look. I've just gone back to my site to see if I can take a look at the things you've pointed out. I couldn't find a version history so I suspect I'm not looking in the right place. However when I went to edit the webpart there were four boxes there telling me to install an embed code! Firstly I only asked for 2 in 2 columns & also where were the ones that I put in? Also after deleting two of the embed boxes it deleted the whole webpart and then I got an error message when trying to save. I will check out the article that you linked to and see if I can use it on another browser but if you have any more tips you can give it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Amber1.9KViews0likes0CommentsSharepoint Features Disappearing
Hi guys, I am trying to create a SharePoint site and I really need some help. At the moment all I've created is the front page which I want to be simple for others to use while still looking nice. I've attached a picture of what I've done for you to see what I'm trying to describe. I initially put in a Hero so I could link to the main things I needed on the page. These were 2 links to different Sways and one to a survey on SurveyMonkey. I saved these then when I went back to edit it and add more links, everything had disappeared! After trying this three times and keeping having the same issue, I decided to put in the welcome statement at the top then add a webpart divided into three columns so I could imbed the Sways and include a link to my survey. This looked great. I then decided I wanted to change the look of the welcome statement so went back in to edit this. I didn't touch the other webpart but when I saved it all my content had gone again. I'm not a SharePoint expert by any means and am just feeling my way along so I'm not sure if it's me being stupid, but I've spent around three hours creating it so far and having to repeatedly put this content in and I'm getting so frustrated it's unbelievable. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Amber P.S. At the moment it is only me working on the site, no-one else can see it and it's not published.2KViews0likes4Comments
