Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 10.0.26120.961
Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. I have been encountering a persistent problem for quite some time now, lasting for over 5 months (can you believe it?). The issue I'm facing is that whenever I try to download something, it gets stuck at 0% and just remains there without progressing any further. To address this, I have attempted various troubleshooting methods recommended in online tutorials, like resetting the Windows update/installer using command prompt, basic troubleshooting techniques, and refreshing network settings. I would be extremely grateful for any assistance in resolving this issue promptly, as updating my Windows is crucial to address some ongoing problems with my GPU.536Views0likes1CommentNavigating Startup Challenges
Upon booting up my laptop, I've noticed a couple of minor issues that have cropped up recently. Firstly, the Windows 11 startup sound is absent, leaving it silent. Secondly, upon reaching the lock screen, there's a brief UI glitch where the interface disappears for 1-2 seconds before reappearing. These problems have persisted since I upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10. Though minor, I am keen to resolve them. For reference, the specs of my laptop are provided below. I seem to be experiencing an issue where the desktop occasionally changes to a black screen with oversized icons and no taskbar. This seems to happen randomly when I'm not actively using the computer. It happened today before 6:30 PM.294Views0likes1CommentAssistance Needed: Cold Boot Freezing/Crashing - Unsure of Next Steps
Hello everyone, I am facing a persistent issue with my computer. Every time I start it for the first time during the day, it begins loading my startup programs but eventually freezes without generating a BSOD. I am then forced to manually restart the system. Strangely, this freezing seldom results in a minidump file being created. Despite performing a clean install, the problem persists. I have ruled out all peripherals except for my keyboard and mouse, conducted memory tests, and reseated my RAM. The two potential culprits that come to mind are a recently installed SSD data drive or a particular program. While I attempted to resolve the issue by updating chipset drivers and running driver verifier, these steps did not yield any positive results. Curiously, after this initial boot crash, my system remains stable for subsequent reboots, sleep mode, and other functions. I am at a loss as to what could be causing this issue and would appreciate any help or insights you may have.411Views0likes1CommentLaptop advice (want a quieter one)

I've run into a situation and I'm unsure how it occurred or how to solve it. I have my User folder on my desktop (using Desktop Icons) and when I click into that and go to the documents folder I have items within that folder. In a file explorer window if I go to the Documents folder using the Quick Actions I have items within that folder However in a file explorer window if I go to This PC>C:>Users>MyUsername>Documents it's empty.549Views0likes1CommentSolved Modifying advanced power plan settings using the registry
I'm trying to make a private Custom Windows 11 ISO, with integrated updates, drivers and tweaks...I've come across these advanced hidden power plan tweaks that can be done using a program called powersettingsexplorer, and wish if I could do these tweaks through the registry rather than through powersettingsexplorer, so that I can integrate them into my ISO: Processor idle demote threshold > 100 Processor idle promote threshold > 100 Processor performance time check interval > 5000951Views0likes0CommentsRe: How do I burn an ISO image to USB and make it bootable?
MeganHarris I once tried to automate the process of burning ISO image to USB using PowerShell scripts. I first found some basic PowerShell script examples online and modified them slightly to suit my needs. It was actually quite simple, mainly automating some repetitive steps through the script, such as mounting ISO, copying files to USB, etc. I remember that after I debugged the script, I only needed to run it once, and it would automatically handle the entire process. However, I encountered some minor issues with permissions and script compatibility at the beginning, and I had to test and modify it several times before it succeeded. Below is the script I wrote, sharing it with you! # Identify the target USB drive (ensure correct drive letter) $usbDrive = "D:" # Format the USB drive Format-Volume -DriveLetter $usbDrive.Trim(":") -FileSystem NTFS -Confirm:$false # Mount the ISO file $isoPath = "C:\path\to\your\iso\file.iso" $mountResult = Mount-DiskImage -ImagePath $isoPath -PassThru $volumeInfo = $mountResult | Get-Volume # Copy files to the USB $isoDriveLetter = $volumeInfo.DriveLetter xcopy "$($isoDriveLetter):\*" "$usbDrive\" /s /e # Clean up: Unmount the ISO Dismount-DiskImage -ImagePath $isoPath Save the above script as a .ps1 file, such as CreateBootableUSB.ps1. Navigate to the directory where the script is located in PowerShell and run it!49KViews2likes4CommentsRestore information and wipe drive from Failed Laptop
I have a Windows 11 Laptop with a Microsoft Login account that uses the PIN function. The laptop has a burned CPU. I have taken the NVME Drive out, put it in a USB Caddy and plugged it in to another PC. The other PC uses the exact same Windows Account and PIN to Login. I have tried to access the folder inside the "Users" Folder and no succes. I was starting to reconcile with the idea that I wont be able to access a very specific folder on the Desktop and decided to reset the drive with DISKPART. used the CLEAN command, used FORMAT as well.. No Success i cant revert the drive either to a "Factory" State so i can make a new Windows Instal.. No success either while trying to do a Clean Windows Install. The drive has 5 partitions and wont allow me to remove them either. I believe it has something to do with the Microsoft Account... Any Ideas are well received on both : Getting the data out / Reverting the drive to factory state so i can use it for a new windows install.246Views0likes0Comments
