Re: Shared Folder with Internal User, User getting Message, "You need permission to access this item".
RyanSteele-CoV , Yes I had confirmed that and that wasn't the issue. Thanks for your reply. I found that the "Limited-access user permission lockdown mode" was turned activated. Once I deactivated it, the user can now access. I never would have thought that this feature exists (Not sure why someone would want a shared document blocked...), but it was exactly what I was looking for.1.2KViews1like1CommentShared Folder with Internal User, User getting Message, "You need permission to access this item".
I have shared a folder (not a document library) with an internal user, but that user keeps getting the message, " You need permission to access this item. Inheritance is broken and the folder has unique permissions. This user doesn't have access to the root site. Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be here? User Permissions Error the user sees when following the link that gets emailed to them when I share the item.Solved1.3KViews0likes5CommentsRe: External User Opening Shared Editable File is Forced to Request Access
Have you had any luck finding a solution to this? I have a folder in SharePoint (Not document library) that I have shared with an internal user. But just like your scenario, when I share the folder with them they get a message "You need permission to access this item".465Views0likes2CommentsRe: power automate will not update choice column 'get items' when the value is deleted
Rob_Elliott & Sigi7, Thanks a lot for your help, Here is the solution that worked for me (if you are curious). https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Using-Flows/power-automate-will-not-update-choice-column-get-items-when-the/m-p/2485763#M440071.9KViews1like0Commentspower automate will not update choice column 'get items' when the value is deleted
I'm using power automates 'get items' to copy and update SharePoint list items from one list to another. Everything works when I update items or change the value of choice column items. but if I completely delete the value, the destination list will retain the previous value that was entered. The if I enter a new value in my source list, my destination list will update again? I think this changed after the mass push out of co-pilot. My flow was created previously and now I'm trying to update it. Any ideas if there is a setting I'm missing or why this is happening?2.3KViews0likes3CommentsPossible to change URL of Document Library link after created?
Once I create a link (.url) in a modern library. Is there any way to modify the URL? Not just delete it and create another one? I do not see a way to do this. I am trying to bypass the URL "preview" which doesn't exist and causes users an extra click to be taken to the page. Hi ShijurajJayaraj, the original posters question was for the video file preview. I also have an issue with the preview feature, but my issue is with preview of URL's in document library web parts. Do you know if the solution you are proposing will also work for this scenario? I haven't figured it out yet, if there is a way.2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Error Message when clicking sharing video link in sharepoint
Deleted, I did copy your hyperlink and you did not answer my questions, so I am still stuck. In your example, you have a link to a document (CV12345.docx). I am not linking to a document, so what would my link look like if I wanted to bypass the preview and go to an external site, like http://www.google.com. And do I need to create an 'Expiration Date' column in my library and set the date the same as I put in the URL?2.5KViews0likes2CommentsList filters now displayed above lists
I noticed recently that directly above my sharepoint online lists, filters are always being displayed. And it is pulling in the actual column names rather than the displayed column names. Because of this, it is difficult to determine what the columns are and what that text is doing on the page (If you don't know they are filters). I'm talking about the code for spaces and other characters such as _x0020_ or _x0027_ or etc. Also, the column may have been re-purposed and the actual column name has nothing to do with the current content in the column. If Pernille-Eskebo is watching these threads, please push out an update to have the filters above lists use their displayed column title which can include spaces, etc. Now that there is no uservoice site, I'm not sure where to submit bugs/RFEs to.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Error Message when clicking sharing video link in sharepoint
Deleted, this still isn't working for me and I need some clarification on a couple things. I included an expiration date in the URL I'm building, but I don't have an expiration date column in the library where I'm putting links. Do I need to create a column called 'ExpirationDate"? If yes, please include the exact syntax of what I need to name the column. In my picture below, this is how I am adding a link to my document library. I named my link 'google', but do you see how it adds the '.url' at the end of the name? It has 'google.url' in the details pane, so I'm using that. Will you please attempt to create a link to an external page in your site pages library and view that list in a list viewer web part and see if this solution you propose is working for you?2.5KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Error Message when clicking sharing video link in sharepoint
Deleted, thanks for your reply. I don't have an 'Expiration Date' column in my 'site pages' library. Can you please share an example of how I handle this and also include the format of how the expiration date should look in the url. Thanks again!2.7KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Error Message when clicking sharing video link in sharepoint
monkeyclumps, Did you ever find a work around for this? I'm seeing the same issue when adding a URL link to a document library and viewing from a list web part on a page. I have a group of pages displayed in a list viewer web part and want to include some direct links, but it is awful for users to see that preview page when following a hyperlink.2.8KViews0likes1Comment
