Hello, Microsoft 365 Insiders! We're thrilled to announce that the Microsoft 365 Insider blog is now part of this vibrant community. This move marks a significant milestone in our journey together. Here are some key reasons for the move: Enhanced Engagement: The Tech Community is designed for sharing timely information and driving community engagement. Community Interaction: The Tech Community facilitates engagement with a larger community of Microsoft 365 users, MVPs, and Community Ambassadors, and enables you to share your thoughts, ask questions, and participate in discussions. Access to Resources: The Tech Community provides a wealth of resources, including blog posts, event promotions, and more, all in one place. Improved Collaboration: The Tech Community supports better collaboration and interaction, making it easier for you to connect with experts and peers. Hello, Microsoft 365 Insiders! We’ve recently renamed the program, formerly known as the Office Insider program, and we’ve relocated to the Microsoft 365 community! We’re excited to share preview features for Microsoft 365 products and experiences with you. What will we use this space for? To tell you about new features – like the ones you can find on our Microsoft 365 Insider blog. For troubleshooting and break-fix issues, please visit our Microsoft Support Community forum. Also, don't forget to follow us on Twitter to stay connected! Again, we're happy you're here. We'd love to know your thoughts about being a Microsoft 365 Insider. What do you want to see from this program? What can we do better? How do you want us to connect with you? We are committed to building a community and having honest and respectful dialogue with Insiders like you! - The Microsoft 365 Insider team5KViews6likes2CommentsRe: How can I get latest updates on M365 products to my email automatically?
Hi, chiragshukla, For updates about the preview features in the Microsoft 365 Insider program, you can subscribe to our LinkedIn newsletter (which can be delivered directly to your inbox) or you can also subscribe to our blog's RSS feed (which you can manually add to Outlook). Hope this helps! 🙂 ~Susan Microsoft 365 Insider Team586Views0likes0CommentsPresent more effectively and inclusively with video and closed captions in PowerPoint for the web
Hello, Microsoft 365 Insiders, We're back with an exciting new feature from PowerPoint! Who watches videos with closed captions or subtitles 100% of the time? We do! Now #PowerPoint for the web supports inserting videos with closed captions and subtitles. Originally, designed for people with disabilities, we now realize that captions are beneficial for so many reasons: watching videos quietly without disturbing others, heavy accents or foreign languages. Whatever your reason, inserting closed captions and subtitles in your embedded PowerPoint videos will allow you to both connect with your audience in the format they are familiar with while also being inclusive of people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Hello Office Insiders! While the Office Insider program is not new (it was announced in 2015!) and we've had a Microsoft Answers forum since our inception, we haven't had a place for Insiders to talk about announcements for the program. The time is now and we wanted to open this space to create conversations with you and build a closer connection. What will we use this space for? To tell you about new program developments - like the new Office Insider for Business section we just launched on our website! What will we *not* post here? We won't be posting our Build Updates here. Those will remain in the Microsoft Answers community. (The reason for this is because we need to be able to move these threads around to different forums within Answers for triage help from our experts.) If you have issues or problems with a build, please post your question in the Office Insider Answers community and you'll get help there! Also, don't forget to sign up for our newsletter. Follow us on Twitter. Read our blog. Stay connected! Again, we're happy you're here. We'd love to know your thoughts about being an Office Insider. What do you want to see from this program? What can we do better? How do you want us to connect with you? Ever found yourself repeating phrases or looking for better expressions when writing in Word? Check out the new feature running in the Insider channel for Windows Office Insiders called Rewrite in Word to quickly find alternative expressions for phrases in your writing. We've got a great feature deep dive by Office Engineering PM Zhang who explains why we made this and how cool it is! https://blog-insider.office.com/2019/08/12/rewrite-in-word-say-it-another-way/2.9KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
Hi, mem756 , Office LTSC is a perpetual version of Office and, as such, you will not be able to preview features. In order to be able to join and see the preview features from the Office Insider program, you'll need to have a Microsoft 365 subscription for consumer - or - if you have a Microsoft 365 apps for Enterprise subscription, your IT Admin will need to allow you to change your own channel to Beta Channel or Current Channel (Preview). Here is more information about joining the program: https://insider.office.com/join/windows Hoping this helps! Susan4.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
HotCakeX , hi again! I've heard back once again from the Office Android engineering team and here are a few things: Issue #1: While opening file from Home page, “Save As – Discard” dialog is shown before annotation is allowed. However, when file is opened from File manager, Save Dialog is shown post the edit. >> If you had opened the file before our fix was deployed, it would have been stored in our app folders as a read only file. Tapping on “read-only” files leads to the older behavior where you are asked to save before editing. We understand that this is inconvenient for the you. Our recommendation is to save a copy of the file and make any subsequent edits in the saved copy. Issue #2: Irrespective of where the file is opened from, changes should be saved to the same file without asking for a copy to be made >> Android limitations prevent us from achieving this with local files. (This behavior is not applicable for cloud files) You will need to save a copy, the first time. Once saved, we recommend you open the file from within Office app. Opening the copy from outside Office & performing edits would result in a similar issue. Please let me know if you have any further questions, HotCakeX ! Thanks, Susan5.3KViews1like1CommentRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
nguyenduonglam , in order to be an Office Insider, you need to be running the subscription version of Microsoft 365 instead of a perpetual version of Office (like the one you have). You can find the instructions for joining here: https://insider.office.com/en-us/join/windows Please let me know if that helps! Cheers, Susan5.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
HotCakeX , sorry for the delay, I've been researching this issue for the past week with the engineering team. They just let me know this morning that the fix has been checked in and it's expected to be rolled out to 100% of the general audience near the last week of March if all goes as expected. So, this upcoming update should fix this issue. Please accept my apologies for the frustration that this has been causing you! And, please let me know if you don't see this fix on your device in the next couple of weeks. Thanks, Susan5.4KViews1like8CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
JhonCadogan , thanks for that feedback! We always love to get it! The best way for our engineers to see it is to go into the app (Word, OneNote, etc...) and click on Help --> Feedback. It will go straight into our Customer Voice system. Thanks!5.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
ron S. , We actually do have an Office Insider forum in Answers, but it appears that something is causing the filter to get stripped out, which we will get fixed ASAP and I'll repost the URL in the above. In the meantime, if you go to the main "Microsoft 365 and Office" forum and filter in the Topics for "Office Insider", you'll find it! Thank you so much for alerting me to this issue! It helps everyone! Cheers, Susan6.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
Hi, HowardS ! I'm happy to hear you've been using the new Excel functions and features we've been releasing to Insiders. The LET function is one of several features that are currently only available to a portion of Office Insiders at this time. Access to this feature can change from update to update while we continue to optimize the feature over the next several months. While we don’t have a specific ETA for when the feature will be available to all Insiders, you can check in the app after future updates to see if the feature becomes available to you again. Thanks, Susan26KViews1like0CommentsRe: Welcome to the Office Insider Community
Hi, Tom_at_work , That's strange, by clicking on your name, I can see your post in the Offie 365 forum (and see you've got responses, too!). The question is here in case you are still having a problem getting to it: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Excel/GET-PIVOTDATA-REF-error/m-p/959125 In the Getting Started Guide below, there's a section about how to ensure that you're getting subscribed to all of the topics that you've started: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Getting-Started/Microsoft-Tech-Community-Getting-Started-Guide/m-p/194516 Thanks for being a part of our Office Insider and Office 365 community! Hi, Kishore, The Xlookup function is still in beta right now and only available to a portion of Office Insiders. It should be rolling out to 100% of Insiders over the next few weeks.
