Re: Inbox / Private messages broken on my profile
It appears to be working, mostly! BUT-- it takes FOREVER to load. If people are expecting it to work, they will assume it is still broken because it easily takes a full minute to load anything on the page. I expect people are likely to get timeout errors in some situations because of how long it takes. But if you can wait, it does seem to show the inbox again. And I replied to a message I was sent a very long time ago, and they did get the reply in their inbox. So the needle has moved, and that's good.203Views1like3CommentsRe: Inbox / Private messages broken on my profile
I posted about this about a year ago. I used to have a lot of existing discussions going back to mid-pandemic. And they're all gone. Also, I can no longer send or receive messages. It's utterly broken. It looks like MS doesn't intend to fix it. This whole platform feels neglected and unmaintained.194Views0likes0CommentsRe: Anyone else intermittently losing the Immersive Space (3D) option off of the View menu?
I came across this old post while perusing the techcommunities. The solution for not being able to do Immersive Spaces in Teams is it was deprecated. Turns out that you can no longer do Immersive Spaces in the Teams Channels. You can only use one of the immersive spaces for a meeting if you schedule it through the (essentially outlook) calendar. I've noticed that Mesh admin trials all end as of July 2025. So I am not sure if Immersive Spaces will still be around much longer. It's disappointing. I really enjoyed the whole idea of immersion. But I'm afraid it wasn't well handled from the start. :(128Views0likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft Tech Community messaging broken
LOL. Hilarious. This problem has been endemic to the Tech Community platform for years. The flaky messaging has been getting worse. It has just simply broken since the last update. So this means this problem is not new. It hasn't come up because of a caching issue, or flaky internet. I have used different devices, operating systems, browsers, in private and in cognito, and removed all cookies and other files. I've used it on brand new machines and old ones. I have used other profiles. I have asked others to try to use it. I have extraordinarily fast and stable internet speeds. That is rarely the issue anymore. I have used this platform since it started. I am old. None of your standard suggestions actually address the real problem. MESSAGING NO LONGER WORKS on the Tech Community Platform. My question is: When will this problem be addressed and will it be fixed? If it is not going to be fixed, admit it. All other platforms and forums can do it, but Microsoft can't invest in their own community forums enough to get messaging to work when it once did? They were once capable of doing it. And if they don't care enough to fix messaging, what should we expect from the rest of the platform? Mks_1973, looking forward to what you find out concerning this issue and how it is going to be returned to adequate function.62Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft Tech Community messaging broken
Long, long time user, first time poster in this discussion... I used to be able to receive and send direct messages. I currently have 8 unread messages. *Eight.* But, when I go to read them, the page has no content, and it just spins and spins, and nothing comes up. Now, it's been barely working for a while- but why *have* the feature if it is clearly abandoned? Is messaging ever going to work again? How do I download the messages I have gotten that have info in them I can use?Anyone else intermittently losing the Immersive Space (3D) option off of the View menu?
Anyone else having this issue? I've been doing a lot in Teams Immersive Spaces. It has worked in New Teams for most of the year. I've demonstrated it in front of live audiences successfully for most of the year too. Until about two weeks ago. I was in front of an audience, went to show them how it works on a Business Standard tenant I've had for about 10 months, and boom, no Immersive Space (3D) on the View menu. I have all the right settings, the right licenses, and it has been working fine until now. It doesn't matter if I am doing a "meet now" or a scheduled meeting. Alone, or with others invited. I've made sure my version is up to date. I've removed and reinstalled Teams, I've tried it with other accounts, I've done a reset and a repair. I've rebooted the computer. I've tried it on other Windows 11 machines with Teams. I have an enterprise tenant, also was able to use Immersive Spaces in Teams, that also has this issue using the clients on my computers. It is intermittent. Some of my friends who tried it for me, can see it on the menu (including on the Mac), some can't. It often works once, then the Immersive Space (3D) menu item then disappears, and even a quit and restart of Teams won't bring it back. It does seem to be more dependable on the Mesh admin trial licenses than the paid for Teams Premium licenses for some reason. Not sure if that's a red herring, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, occasionally, the users I invite (if I do a scheduled meeting and not a meet now), will show up briefly as unknown, when they've had the right licensing for a while, but this disappearing menu item thing happens even with no one else invited. Anyone else having this issue with Teams? Have you found a fix? I've just really gotten people comfortable using the feature, and now it's not dependable.Re: Teams Meeting: Unable to Connect to Immersive Spaces
It's mid July, 2024-- and I am having the issue that people can't go into Immersive Spaces in New Teams, regardless if they're Business or Enterprise, with high spec machines, up to date on updates. This looks like a regression- like they broke something trying to do an update and rolled too far back. The twist is-- in the meeting, ONE person can switch from Gallery view to Immersive Space- but no one else can. They stand in there alone, while the rest of us stay in the gallery (and, added bonus, their audio is muffled, like they're underwater or in a tunnel. And MS is going to change Mesh audio to Teams, good luck with that). This has been tested with six people of various tenants over the last four days. I will be testing with someone else in ten minutes. But I suspect there is an issue. So for my fellow Teams Immersive Spaces users- have any of you recently had this problem. If you have a moment, can you test and see if it *is* happening to you (with others in the meeting) now? I am not the only one, but maybe it's a small subset? We have all the correct admin settings, we have the right licenses, it worked for us two weeks ago, some even up to the middle of last week, but it doesn't now. For Microsoft, I have done FEEDBACK over and over and over. Please don't ask me to post feedback. I want to know if this is a known problem, and will it be fixed by the end of next week, when I am doing a demonstration for Microsoft's own clients at one of their offices? Thanks.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Lakehouse in Teams Immersive Spaces-- Can I use it in Mesh?
Thanks Miska. It is so close to what I want, but I want to be able to make the screen bigger. I'd like to use the host tools available in Mesh in the space so the meeting runs a little more smoothly. But it is nice to think that Teams Immersive Spaces got a "headline" environment in the first place.425Views0likes0CommentsLakehouse in Teams Immersive Spaces-- Can I use it in Mesh?
I know that Teams Immersive Spaces is kind of the downlevel free sample of Mesh for the masses. But- that primary default environment, the Lakehouse, is kind of cool. I have noticed it's not one of the two defaults to play with in Mesh though. Any way to grab it and use it as part of a collection in Mesh?532Views1like2CommentsRe: Mesh public preview does not appear in Teams?
Holger- I am using version 1.6.0027573 Teams Classic. With this version, as of yesterday, I could get Immersive Spaces in Teams to work without the Premium license (as the documentation said it would). BUT I have run into problems. As to New Teams, the documentation said for certain, immersive spaces will not work in New Teams, only Classic for right now. I am curious how you are using Mesh without the public preview turned on for you Teams client. Microsoft controlled for the Update Policy, simply means Microsoft will decide what the best Teams client version is. I set it to Teams classic because I want all the accounts in the tenant to be able to participate in the public preview. I was told by someone to uninstall and reinstall Teams desktop client if it's not working properly, maybe you should uninstall Teams from the machine you're testing on, and reinstall Teams Classic, and try again with that. I have no issues having the EA come up in Teams- and I never go near New. I am suspecting going back and forth might be messing it up? Teams can be fragile on the best of days.2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Mesh public preview does not appear in Teams?
Thanks, then I'd like to grab pictures and keep dialoging here with you, AND I'll also add feedback in the app-- I can't remember if it allows pictures, which I really need to prove what I'm talking about in case I use words the tech support doesn't to describe things (and to prove what I am saying is what they see in the picture). Is that okay?2.5KViews1like0CommentsRe: Mesh public preview does not appear in Teams?
I tested a scheduled Teams Meeting, both attendees have Public Preview on. The person who first enters the meeting can see Immersive Space on the View menu, and click on it. They can do what I've been able to do with them alone in an ad-hoc meeting- hear the space, interact with interactables, move, but No, I could not change the environment, had the same error. Further! The second person who enters the space, despite being on Public Preview, despite having been able to use Immersive Space when doing an ad-hoc meeting alone, *no longer has Immersive Space* on their view menu. I will continue to test... And will add pictures when I am able.2.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Mesh public preview does not appear in Teams?
We covered the environment change in the other reply-- but the other two: 1) Classic is all that works right now. That it might work in the New version in the future is fine- there are other things that don't quite work in New right now as well, so it's not a surprise. BUT- if a previewer is in New Teams, and they do everything else right, but it fails anyway, well, that would be upsetting. Heck they might be in New because they thought it would be preferred by Microsoft. 2) I used that page about How-to-fix- app-audio to check my audio issues. *Everything* is right BUT the fact that Immersive Spaces is not available under the Teams page settings (not the in-the-meeting-settings everyone goes to because there are settings, and there are settings, and by the way, that document doesn't actually specify, but anyway), to check app permissions and turn on Media. The app isn't there. Now, I am an experienced admin- and I tried to add Mesh immersive spaces app to Teams for the users-- and the ADD button *isn't on the card that comes up when you select it to ADD. It can't be added- so I can't enable media under settings in Teams. When I get back to my testing machines, I will edit this (if I can) with the pictures in situ, so you can see what I'm talking about. I am using my dev tenant to test this stuff (because I am not doing it in production, and I'll be playing with customizing worlds next), and I was reluctant to do in app feedback because it'll be from an onmicrosoft account. But I can submit preview feedback on all of this and wanted to a lot. Will the feedback coming from my tenant be acceptable or does it have to be a production work account- because I'm not going to beta test there. When I do feedback, is there anywhere I can go to see what's going on with it, like user voice or something? Is there an insider program or discord to join to do get more details about feedback than in this forum? I appreciate you feedback because it feels like someone else cares about this like I do.2.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Mesh public preview does not appear in Teams?
I was joining ad-hoc meetings in order to simply test the experience. I was trying other user accounts as well. No luck. Many meetings folks have are started, then participants are added or given a link. It would be a bummer if Immersive Spaces didn't work for them and they had to go through all the extra steps of creating a meeting right now, but with right now's time and date, and then add the users and invite them, in order to meet with the option to select the environment all involved preferred. Is this problem going to become a feature?2.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Mesh public preview does not appear in Teams?
Holger_Duempelmann I wanted to get back to you that I've been TRYING to get Mesh immersive spaces to work in Teams since it was announced. And it *wouldn't work*!! Until today and it doesn't quite work even then. In Teams it should not even require a Premium license, just one of the Business or Enterprise licenses per user (which I have with E5). I contacted someone inside Microsoft to try to nudge the preview team to see if they forgot to flip a switch or something- and wouldn't you know it, all of a sudden it WILL turn on now, today-- but it doesn't *quite* work.... One key is the version number for your Teams CLASSIC client (it ends in 28452- mine updated today, but I've *been* updating my client over and over since last week). A quick run down of what you need in the client -- be sure you're running the desktop client --be sure that client is CLASSIC. It won't work in new (LOL) --be sure you have Public Preview enabled (the EA should be on your profile medallion) --be sure you're on the correct version 1.6.00.28452 I am having other issues with it (like I can't get the environment to change, I can't get audio set up correctly because I can't add the app to Teams correctly, it doesn't have an add button the card) Please let me know if you can get it to work now, because I really, really a public preview buddy to compare my settings and problems with. 😉2.6KViews1like12Comments
