Microphone not working om Mac

Hi.

We've newly migrated to Teams in our organisation. However, when I try to join a scheduled meeting Teams doesn't seem to have proper access to the microphone on my Mac. I get the error message: "Teams can’t hear you Try a different mic or check your system privacy settings".

When I go to the privacy settings in Preferences, I do not see Microsoft Teams at all as option for accessing the microphone. See attached screenshot.

How do I allow Teams access to the microphone on my Mac? Im running OS/X 10.14.4

Hi @Peter Lewandowski ! Long time no see :)

Can you please try go to your profile button on the top right -> settings - > permissions and see if the media button is checked!

Okay! If you can't see the Teams option  in the privacy settings in the OS,  I would try to reinstall the teams client! I know this has help others

But still no access to the microphone... The same issue with the camera it seems.

okay! I know this has been off by default in the privacy settings of the microphone and camera! If Microsoft Teams is nowhere to be found here as an option I would do an uninstall and reinstall the Teams client

Try that and let us know!

Thank you! Removing Teams app and reinstalling fixed the issue. After reinstallation I got a request from Teams to access my microphone. Both Mic and Camera works now!

Hi I am having the same issue.

Uninstalling and re-installing has not fixed the issue.

Any ideas on how to solve?

@rendelyr, I think I might actually have uninstalled the entire Office-suite, including OneDrive.

@Simone09  It was working fine until I installed MacOS over the weekend... now it won't allow me to change my settings and it doesn't show up in the privacy in Finder for me to tick... Help!!

Hi,

have you try to reset youre privacy settings too ?

You can however reset the entire camera and microphone access list by issuing the following commands in the Terminal :
"tccutil reset Camera"
and :
"tccutil reset Microphone"

@Peter Lewandowski - I have been working with teams now for a period of time. The microphone is not reliable and will freeze mid meeting. The software will also freeze until a new selection is made. This is a fairly frustrating issue. The software is up to date. The actions in this thread have been completed. The drivers are up to date. Is there a recognized bug and if so what is the ETA on the bug?

Hello @PJD8406   the Uservoice feedback forum is where you can search for reported bugs and vote for them to be fixed, or enter a new request.  I did a quick search but I'm not sure I found exactly your issue.
