broadcast

Can there also be something build in that you enable p2p caching of video's in a Corporate context to prevent an overload of the internet line on a company location when a lot of people are looking simultanious to a new video/broadcast. I was thinking of something like this: https://wmspanel.com/nimble/p2p_streaming or this http://viblast.com/pdn/

Hi @FrankvanRijt,

Thanks for the idea.

Currenlty there is no corresponding blog mentioned the part you described.

Please consider submit it into Microsoft Stream idea fourm:

@Frank Rijt-van - Thanks for adding your idea for P2P / Caching / SDN support to Stream. We've migrated your idea here for others to vote on:

We have caching / SDN (Software Defined Network) solutions on our backlog for the near-mid future. For SDN / caching we aren't building anything directly into Stream, but instead are partnering with 3rd party providers. Right now the 3 partners we've talked with are...

- RAMP (OmniCache) - They have a cache proxy solution that is VM based. Where you insert the VM into your network and route video traffic through it. This works today with Stream with configuration/deployment on the RAMP side.

- Kollective (eCDN) - They have a P2P solution and have built plugins for the player we use in Stream. We have to do work in Stream to integrate Kollective to call their APIs and configure our player to use their plugin. We have this work on the list to be done, but don't have a timeline we can promise right now.

- Hive - They have a P2P solution and have built plugins for the player we use in Stream. We have to do work in Stream to integrate Hive to call their APIs and configure our player to use their plugin. We have this work on the list to be done, but don't have a timeline we can promise right now.
