Great site and one that I have often used to help me out. Unfortunately I cannot find a post which can answer my question when I search the site so maybe someone can help:
I have recently created a number of Microsoft Teams for staff in my school, naturally I have decided to make use of the calendar facility within Teams - through outlook. We now have all the events one main school Team Calendar. Departments also have their own calendar for stuff which is specific to their departments. I am delighted to see staff embrace this. The problem starts here however:
Staff cannot view Team calendars with their own calendars on their mobile devices/ipads etc when using the Outlook app.
How can staff view the school Team calendar through the Outlook app?
They are all part of the team.
They are all following the team.
They can see their personal calendar while on the outlook app.
They can see the team/group calendar while sitting at a desktop and using outlook.
BUT staff cannot view the Team calendar on their handheld devices. This makes the calendar redundant.
Can I share the Team calendar to them from the desktop while viewing? It seems when I do this I am sharing my PERSONAL calendar rather than the team one even when I close my personal calendar before pressing share!!!!
This is driving me a bit mad today!

Hi Christopher, thank you for all the help so far! I will answer the questions as best I can without the ability to screenshot the actions:
1. Do the calendars show on the device when you try to search for them using the method above within the Outlook app?
When I open my Outlook app on my Samsung I tried the following to add the calendar:
2. Can you try this on another user to see if they can do it?
I have asked others in the organisation and they have had no luck and they have asked me to try and find a solution.
3. Were you a part of the Team of the shared calendar you were trying to add to your device?
I created the Team
4. Your auto discover CNAME record is correct on your domain.
I am unsure of what this means, but if you are referring to the team name when searching the calendar than, yes it is correct. I have a number of other teams with similar starting names and when searched they appear on the list to be added as a calendar, but when selected the same result happens for other teams also.

I downloaded from the playstore so that isn't the issue.

Thanks a lot for proving the detail. Quick thought here. Did you download the Outlook app for Android from the Google Play store or are you using the OWA app which came with the Android phone? The reasons I ask is because the latter is being discontinued and doesn’t do it whilst the Outlook one from the store should do.

I just sat down on my ipad to see if I could add the Team calendar as you mentioned. I could not.
However, I tried another random calendar from another sector of our organisation and this did add for me (I am unsure if this was set up as a group or as a team or in sharepoint or indeed if it is a profile of a user with our organisations name!!)
I am now wondering if there is a setting within teams that I have failed to turn on to allow the sharing of the calendar?

That’s great, it’s narrowed it down.
I will throw up a test environment tonight and will get back to you once I have looked into it. Thanks for all your help so far.

Thanks for your patience on this. I wanted to test a few things to see if it was available. I tried many different ways to do it.
In short, it isn't possible at present. But I want to take the time to explain why. Teams are based on Office 365 groups, as part of an Office 365 group they get a calendar. However, Office 365 group calendars cannot be opened in IoS or Android apps currently.
There is a number of Uservoice requests to get this added
And more specifically to add what you specifically need for IoS and Android
A Teams Uservoice confirms it is working on bringing in the Office 365 group calendar into Teams meaning that the calendar for the Teams may be visible in the Teams App on IoS and Android at some point - but this isn't confirmed
Going forward, there is always the option should you want to use shared calendars on a mobile phone, to use shared mailboxes which will work 100% (and which it sounds like you managed to open earlier) and this could be used as a workaround until the solution arrives in the future.
It seems pretty crazy that this functionality isn't already there! I am sorry that it can't ultimately be done, however it does confirm a yes or no. If you are satisfied with this response please mark as like and set it as the solution to the question.

Thank you for your efforts. It's certainly a frustrating ending but an ending none the less. Hopefully this can be rectified in the near future.
Now I just have to figure out a shared mailbox and all should be sorted! Many thanks again for the help.

As a work around, to not having Group/Team calendar availability on mobile app. Go to your OWA on your computer. From the event, click on 'Add to My Claendar'. Now it's viewable to your mobile. device.
Certainly NOT ideal.
But, for now that's all we have. I hope that Group/Team calendars will one day be available on mobile devices.
