Has anyone done a business case document for MicrosoftTeams to their executives that they would be willing to share? Looking for a quick one or two pager that hits hard.

We didn't need one for us. Our Director for Technology determined the benefits and we pushed it out to all laptops/computers across the whole organisation.

From there we have been running a series of comms, tips of the week, and training sessions to help people understand the benefits of collaborating in small teams to achieve specific goals.

Going well so far if you want to use KordaMentha as a real life example to your execs for your business case!

Yeah, my Director of IT isn't so director, so I'm having to provide the CEO document for why. So that's why I'm looking before I start chipping away. We've basically made the decision that it's the collab tool for us, just need to make a document for it. Most likley I'm going to have to put our own stuff together with what we've compared etc. and future state, but figured I could pluck some idea's from others if they had done the same.
My suggestion would be to include two things (in addition to whatever else you are adding):

1. Cover testimonials from companies who are successfully using Teams and who are realising the benefits.

2. Push the Skype for business phase out to Teams app.

I find point number 2 particularly important if an organisation wishes to stay ahead of the game and latest technology!

Yeah, we've already been deploying Teams, we never did luckily deploy Skype for Business since for whatever reason we chose to use Skype Consumer previously so it's an easy migration. Our Senior Leaders just weren't brought along on the process by our CIO so I'm trying to convey that message to the sr. leaders. Anyway, I'll see what I can come up with didn't know if others had to deal with anything like I am :). Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with Damien, highlight the benefits and productivity gains that other organisations have shared in case studies, particularly any you think your leadership would aspire to emulate.

 

Other than that they typically respond well to acknowledging that the new millennials in their workforce expect to work in a different way, and in general that there is more focus these days on people operating as Teams rather than individuals. I'm not really entirely sure I personally agree (I don't have much belief in age based demographics for technology adoption) but it does tend to chime well with senior management who are perhaps older than the average.

 

That and meetings, competitors like Slack are way behind in that area.

Do a survey to find out how many staff members are using WhatsApp groups to communicate, then list the dangers of staff using shadow IT to communicate - ungoverned, potential security risks, etc. that should be enough ammunition in itself
