Re: End-user Resources

Great announcement on Microsoft Teams. Great job, Microsoft!

Re: End-user Resources

I don't see an option to turn on Microsoft Teams in the tenant.  I am in the "Services and Addins" area in the admin portal.  https://portal.office.com/adminportal/home#/Settings/ServicesAndAddIns   I watched the Microsoft Mechanics video about Microsoft Teams, but the Microsoft Teams option doesn't show yet.  What do I need to do to try this out?

Re: End-user Resources

Same here.

Re: End-user Resources

Same here

Re: End-user Resources

Doesn't seem like they've turned it on yet.

RE: End-user Resources

Yeah, I'm excited to try out this new product. Just need to be able to turn it on!

RE: End-user Resources

Same here..no Teams option in my tenant yet.

RE: End-user Resources

I'm excited to turn this on too. Any word on when we'll see the option to enable the service in our Admin control panel?

Re: End-user Resources

A great announcement and I'm excited for this product.

I will admit I have not watched the webcast so I am not sure if this has been answered.

Where does this fit in with regards to the different communication options? Teams Vs Yammer etc. There is a lot of Function overlap with Yammer and I'd just like to understand the positioning on this so I can market it correctly to my clients.

Re: End-user Resources

The announcement says today. But here it is today, and it is not available. I hope the product isn't like the release of the public preview. It looks like a great tool for our users.

RE: End-user Resources

Not showing up in mine either. Do you think this will be an alternative to the lack of persistent chat in SfB online?

Re: RE: End-user Resources

I was able to simply go to http://teams.microsoft.com and signin in with my OrgID...and it asked if I wanted to enable teams for my organization.  I don't know if that is the exact process, but that worked for my Office 365 tenant.

RE: End-user Resources

have to go into services and add-ins

Re: End-user Resources

Downloads are available too - https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads

Re: End-user Resources

You will see the option to turn on Microsoft Teams in the admin portal under services and addins within the hour - we will update everyone once it's live.

RE: End-user Resources

Not in our tenant yet.. Hopefully it will appear today at some point?

Re: End-user Resources

Hi @David Monk - stand by!

You will see the option to turn on Microsoft Teams in the admin portal under services and addins within the hour - we will update everyone once it's live.

Re: End-user Resources

The admin portal switch is now live! Go to admin portal, or click the button for admins (login as an admin) at https://teams.microsoft.com/. Go to Settings>Services & add-ins and look for Microsoft Teams.

It's propagating across our data centers so if it doesn't show up for you right now, please check again in a minute.

Re: End-user Resources

Thanks Laurie!

Re: End-user Resources

Is it available for all users in all countries at launch or is it US only like the Bookings app?

RE: End-user Resources

There are also some additional granular feature controls you can adjust that my I put a screen capture on my blog http://blog.ucomsgeek.com/2016/11/how-to-enable-microsoft-teams-preview.html

Re: End-user Resources

I'm able to log in but can't add anyone to my team. I get user permission errors, even though individually every can log in and create their own team.

"The user does not have permissions to access Microsoft Teams."

Re: RE: End-user Resources

Be sure to logoff and back on to admin portal. I had to do that to get it to show up.

Re: End-user Resources

You may want to take the time for that (watch the webcast)- the question you ask about Yammer really is good and extends out to other core products.

Yammer is a key part of our Office 365 collaboration vision to help people connect across a company and used by 85% of the Fortune 500.  We continue to invest in new Yammer features, including integrations with Delve, Office Video, and Skype Meeting Broadcast. Yammer is great for cross-organizational conversations where one-to-many conversations are critical.

Microsoft Teams is focused on highly interactive teams with a very specific goal or goals in mind. If you think about 1:FEW versus 1:MANY as a spectrum, I think it gets clearer.
